Barry will at least give AL an interview...If AL gets that interview and a chance to sell himself and whatever else he pitches, he is gonna be hard to not hire.

It's a no brainer between Chryst and Coach Golden. They both have about the same results as HCs, but Coach Golden is an infinitely better recruiter with much better ties in important recruiting hotbeds like NJ and FL. When all things are equal, you always go for the better recruiter.

Wouldnt it be ammusing if Barry Alverez just issued a statement saying Wisconsin will not consider Al Golden for their head coaching vacancy.

Is this a serious question? He would leave because the Wisconsin job would be a significant improvement for him and his style of football. He doesn't need elite athletes to run the schemes he chooses to employ. In fact he probably would do better with a lesser athlete, one who knows his limitations and is willing to just do his job. I think it is inherently more difficult for a south Florida athlete to excel in this scheme because their entire life they were taught to attack and when they get here that mentality is taboo.
If the rumors are true about his wife being unhappy here Madison would likely be a great destination for them. The fans here don't expect much more than 9-10 win seasons and the occasional trip to the conference championship game. The path through the Big Ten West may be as easy or easier than the coastal! Big college town game day atmosphere and he would probably clean up with the kind of recruits he could land there and from the northeast. Personally I feel like it would be a great move for him...and an even better move for us!

Some tweet on Wisconsin team stream BR said that Alvarez called a power 5 school's AD to gauge a head coaches interest.. doesn't it make a lot of sense that he is in Orlando and wanted to set up a meeting with Golden while he is here? Has to be Golden or Chryst I would think, maybe Addazio

Because he wants to leave, his buddy wants to leave, his wife wants to leave, and Canes fans want him to leave.

The other thing to consider here is Wisconsin's recent Head Coach retention.
They've had 3 successful(for Wisconsin) coaches leave/take better jobs in the last few years.
They're probably going through a needy girlfriend phase right now, they want the next guy to love them long time.
Al Golden isn't looking to climb the ranks, he already lost the PSU gig(his dream job), I bet he'd love nothing more than spend the next 20 years winning 8 games a year in some frozen wasteland.
