I don't think this article eliminates Golden. However Golden to Wisky seemed to good to be true from the start. Who the **** would realistically want him and his buddy?

It does eliminate him if what the article says to be true about Alvarez not retracing his footsteps after Beliema left
 
Not necessarily. If you 'choose' to believe this, then you can choose to believe the comments Chryst supposedly made about "winning a national championship at Pitt and not being interested in any other job."

I still doubt Golden leaves, though, just because we want it so bad.
 
That article does nothing to prove or disprove Golden as a potential candidate. I'm just going to stick with my common sense index which is currently reading "not f'n likely" that Golden is hired away by another program.

That article says nothing. The author's pen name is Cheesy Ferman if that gives you an idea of how accurate it is. The author is attempting to decipher vague statements. That's always a recipe for fail.
 
Don't lose hope if Chryst gets hired. I think that will create job changes across the east coast.

If Chryst leaves, Pitt opens up. If Pitt opens up, a guy like Addazio might be interested, etc.

Let's see where the dust settles.
 
What a difference between Barry Alvarez and the sock puppet! Barry Alvarez is clearly Wisconsin's Director of Athletics. The man ins in charge, and he's not mealy mouthed. Can you imagine how the sock puppet would handle that interview session?
 
Yeah, I saw this article earlier in the day and it proved nothing. The O-Coordinator from OSU, Chryst, Bevell (Seattle Seahawks), Narduzzi, Golden have been linked to this job. Chryst would make the most sense if they are looking for a Wisconsin guy, but Chryst has proven absolutely nothing at Pitt. Golden has proven absolutely nothing at Miami, too, but Alvarez likes him and most feel like he can bring some So. Fla recruits to Wisconsin. At this point, all we need is a pitch made to Golden by anyone. His wife doens't like it here, he doesn't want to be here...someone make this happen.

alvarez wont take guys who might leave anymore. I think that helps golden. these other guys have nfl and other big program aspirations
 
Chryst was OC at Wisconsin so I can see Alvarez at least interviewing him. You know Golden would probably be a good fit at Wisconsin. They want to run the ball. They play 3-4. They recruit the type of kids he likes to recruit. He's a bad fit at Miami obviously.

Also, Wisconsin has always had success recruiting NJ.
 
What i enjoy is all the people proclaiming that Golden to Wisconsin is completely unrealistic are the same people proclaiming that Wisconsin will likely take Chryst. Has anyone peeped Chryst's record at Pitt?

Golden is not a hot name for sure. But he fits a certain mold. He runs a clean program where grades matter (see Wisconsin and their higher than average academic requirements for football players), he stylistically fits what Alvarez wants run (note that 2 coaches have left Wisconsin in the past 3 years, some say it's because of Alvarez's overbearing presence), he's a big 10 guy, and Alvarez has already shown interest in him in the past (Golden is not the first head coach to be hired after subpar seasons -- see Mike Riley, see Rich Rod)

Do I think it's gonna happen? Probably not. But, it's not totally unfathomable like some clowns on here want to proclaim
