It’s called national recruiting. If all the recruits stayed regionally, Florida would be dominant forever. Now that the business of recruiting has exploded, it’s a more level playing field. Blame the internet.

The demographic gains of Arizona, NC, and Texas (particularly San Antonio and Austin) are going to soon-ish catch SoFL.

I-4 Tampa-Orlando corridor too.

Those teams take Florida's best players year in and year out. It's not the only reason they are successful but it is a MAJOR reason as to why Florida schools can't get it together like back in the heyday.
