DC Manny Diaz is doing this while losing 3 starters before the first game, injuries, a freshman LB GROUP, zero depth and a new scheme.
This D is ALWAYS on the field.

And now he has two weeks to get the defense ready for that gimmick offense. I honestly think our D will flat shut GT down with two weeks to prepare, and after playing a similar App State offense as a primer this week for the young LB's.

what he's done in such a short period of time is truly remarkable. he's a BEAST
 
Lot of ACC teams in top 15 defenses..... how the **** is wake forest and Duke up there?? Great job by manny with dorito you best beleive FAU and App state run a train on our defense
 
What else is crazy is my gambling site says we're second in the nation in yards per rush behind Louisville and we average more yards running he. Georgia tech this year

Clemson has crazy talent and DEPTH

I was about to say. We were #1 going into yesterday, and had 10+ TFLs. No way we fell to #7 .

you're correct! we're number one with 13.3 per game. i did allowed TFL my bad

I want to see how we look against teams who actually pass the ball, but early on it looks like Mike Rumph is earning his paycheck coaching up what everybody projected to be an undermanned group of CBs. I just hope this isn't a flaw in the D waiting to get exposed by a decent QB. But so far the unit looks pretty good, and that's without Colbert the last 2 games.

I will help that Richt and Diaz have played GT before. Richt has a 15 year history against them

correct but because of that we are on the field all the time. we should be giving up more yards and be exhausted. we are not giving up yards and we're living in their backfield. he's making the most with the least.

Not exhausted if you get off the field on 3rd down. 8th in the country in opponent 3rd down conversion rate.

Basically, every problem that plagued the the old staff has been improved ten fold.

Levels of competition withstanding, we look like Miami
