We are Miami - we hate our Head Coach

Gator - Learn your UM history --- Jimmy lost 5 games year one with Bernie at QB
- Our fans didnt just want to fly banners - they wanted to take the plane that had the banners and crash it into Jimmy's house

I cant think of one instance in our history when we had a really coach and realized at the time, we had a really good coach

No doubt - played like crap --- also we have two very avg QB's and a below avg OL

However for those of us that have followed the program for more than 15 seconds, the Miami fan base hates our Head Coaches
- With good reason when it comes to Golden and Coker

However at the same time our Fan Base: 1) Hated Jimmy this first few years in the program, 2) Hated Dennis WHILE he was winning two titles and 3) Hated and flew stupid banners on Butch --- the architect of one of the greatest teams ever

Put down the coffee - see how the season plays out

True, but this offense is just unacceptable in his 3 year as head coach AND OC. If I thought there was ANY chance he would make the necessary changes on offense in the offseason <getting an OC and QB coach>, I wouldn’t be half as ****ed, and would have some hope the O could get turned around next season but we all know that is not going to happen. We can’t continue to have same coaching personnel doing the same thing and expecting different results. Won’t happen.. At first I just thought we had issues at QB and OL, but now realize the problems are a lot deeper than that. It’s QB and OL recruiting and development, playcalling, preparation, undisciplined penalties, execution... you name it. The whole offense is a disaster, and he’s entirely responsible as the OC and head coach. I’ve been around long enough to know this is not going to end well.

If you're unhappy with your house, repaint it. Don't burn it down..
Hiring an OC is a repaint, I haven't said he needs to be fired as an HC.

I'm not in the Fly the banner camp, I'm just not in the everything's perfectly fine & Richt is above reproach Cult either.

I don't hate Richt, I'm just tired of losing games we should win & Im tired of all the excuses.

I don't believe he's a good enough OC to be calling plays & Im tired of every excuse that gets made in defense of his porous offense.

If he removed himself from play calling & hired a lab technician X's & O's guru & allowed the offense to flourish under someone else's design he wouldn't catch so much heat. Richt made himself the OC, he gave himself the de facto responsibility of the entire Offense & the QB. We're stuck with this 90's FSU Offense & it ain't working.

In today's era of college football you can manufacture offensive productivity without having a roster full of 4/5-star players on every level. When you have a roster with the talent we have we shouldn't be struggling this bad in year 3 against the teams we struggle against.

That's the issue, it would be one thing if we were Vanderbilt or some sh*t, then our expectations would be unreasonable, but this offense is asked to do the bare minimum & they can't even do that on a regular basis.

Maybe some of yall are perfectly content with the way things are, I'm not & but one thing I always wonder is if you consider Richt to be an Elite coach then you can't on one hand be ready to wage Holy War with anybody who dares to question wtf is going on with this team in year 3, while also not having a legit explanation for why we're still losing games we shouldn't be. Can't have it both ways.

The response is always "relax, no big deal, everything's fine". Okay cool, I'll pretend like it's all good, but then what happens if we drop another game or two this season, what happens if we don't win the Coastal, then what?

Best post I read all night.

You have your head on straight, i look forward to a repaint, like green & orange..

Wait until Richt doesn't bring in a new OC and we drop games next year to include to the Gaytes...Then what?!? Are we still supposed to be cool and calm and trust Richt??? Some fans can't see the writing on the wall with Richt, and that is astonishing to me considering the past experiences of having Coker, Shannon, and Golden. I am not saying Richt as a HC is as bad as those clowns, but what I am saying is that Richt the OC is as bad as those clowns...

Rhino Nut on wednesdays at SLC county. Just my personal experience.
Ahh....I've only been locked up in Dade... In juvi I actually looked forward to the food (beefaroni wasn't bad and believe it or not one can get used to powdered eggs).. not so much in county.

Since Tom Brown and staff call the offensive plays (subject to Richt’s approvals and refinement) how is it fair to attack it as Richt’s play-calling? If the play-calling is toned-down or vanilla because the personnel is unable (or unwilling) to train for and execute it, sure coaching staff needs to do better, but hard to say that’s the fault of play-calling. More creative or elegant play-calling requires personnel buy-in and dedication as well as talent to execute. If Richt’s experience suggests (to him) that the OL personnel are just gonna have to improve, learn to push or block better to further the current schemes, is it clear that second-guessing this is so fair and reasonable? JS.
Ummm.. richt calls plays.

Also, everything u said is silly.

Yeah, if that's not true I agree. I been trying to find where I read that Thomas Brown sends them to Richt via headset this season and then it goes to team. I think it was in a write-up about that NFL player watching the films and talking about the vanilla scheme. I'll put source-link up as edit if I find it. If I'm wrong, I apologize.

(FWIW, TB's title is OC, of course. heh. It might also be thatTB just calls (down) the running plays, which CR may or may not decide to use at the moment)

I’d be real interested to read that if u can find it.

When we first moved to the ACC, my expectation was we should be in the ACCCG 3 out of every 4 years -- figuring VT in their good years would sneak one in every few years. But last year was our first trip there. Has my expectation for UM football changed? No, I still believe with the local talent and history, this program should still mop the floor with the likes of GT, Duke, UNC, Pitt, UVA, and VT. Losing the coastal should always be considered a failure.

But have the last fifteen years of mediocrity coupled with a pure lack of professionalism given me a renewed perspective when dealing with the failure? Probably. I'm at least willing to take the season game by game and see where we end up -- mostly because I know the changes I think we need to implement are unlikely to happen mid-season. Regardless, I want changes on offense next season. I want junior gone. I want a dedicated OC with a more modern offensive system. And I feel pretty confident that I am done with Searles.

Richt is a fine steward of the program and the best we have had in decades. Hands down. But this offensive system isn't doing it. Without some real change, I don't know if we can take the next step.
