No doubt - played like crap --- also we have two very avg QB's and a below avg OL

However for those of us that have followed the program for more than 15 seconds, the Miami fan base hates our Head Coaches
- With good reason when it comes to Golden and Coker

However at the same time our Fan Base: 1) Hated Jimmy this first few years in the program, 2) Hated Dennis WHILE he was winning two titles and 3) Hated and flew stupid banners on Butch --- the architect of one of the greatest teams ever

Put down the coffee - see how the season plays out

It's year three. Miami's in a tough spot, because of coaching. BC and all the games left are must wins. Jimmy won. Jimmy also took all the blame.

Don't ever compare the teams and coaches. We wouldn't win 4 games a year with the old schedules we played. Anybody anywhere.

I hate salisbury steak. All it is is hamburger with brown gravy.

Reminds me of the Rhino Nutz they serve you in jail.

This OP demonstrates a level of perspective and level-headedness that is inappropriate for this board. I rsrely do this, but can a mod please band this purveyor of truth and restraint.

Cmon man, there is no place for calm rational thinking here.

After a bad loss fans tend to react to in-the-moment hurt and ignore the big picture. This program has flaws but is light years better than the Golden era. A few strong recruiting classes in a row will set up the Canes for success. Richt has a history of good evaluations. He will get some things wrong like any coach but in the long run I think he will do just fine.

I don't hate Richt, I'm just tired of losing games we should win & Im tired of all the excuses.

I don't believe he's a good enough OC to be calling plays & Im tired of every excuse that gets made in defense of his porous offense.

If he removed himself from play calling & hired a lab technician X's & O's guru & allowed the offense to flourish under someone else's design he wouldn't catch so much heat. Richt made himself the OC, he gave himself the de facto responsibility of the entire Offense & the QB. We're stuck with this 90's FSU Offense & it ain't working.

In today's era of college football you can manufacture offensive productivity without having a roster full of 4/5-star players on every level. When you have a roster with the talent we have we shouldn't be struggling this bad in year 3 against the teams we struggle against.

That's the issue, it would be one thing if we were Vanderbilt or some sh*t, then our expectations would be unreasonable, but this offense is asked to do the bare minimum & they can't even do that on a regular basis.

Maybe some of yall are perfectly content with the way things are, I'm not & but one thing I always wonder is if you consider Richt to be an Elite coach then you can't on one hand be ready to wage Holy War with anybody who dares to question wtf is going on with this team in year 3, while also not having a legit explanation for why we're still losing games we shouldn't be. Can't have it both ways.

The response is always "relax, no big deal, everything's fine". Okay cool, I'll pretend like it's all good, but then what happens if we drop another game or two this season, what happens if we don't win the Coastal, then what?

I know you can save yourself from participating in slammer mat drills if you sneak in some spliff.
Here you get Eggo's for breakfast... don't know what was for lunch cause I broke out.

My keister is still too airtight to sneak anything into jail my friend. Maybe after a couple of massage sessions with Kenneth I'll be ready to try and smuggle in my first "load".

Unfortunately, nothing will happen. Excuses (blaming the players and/or the budget) will be made like they always are. The super fans will call of us, who expect to consistently win and win big, "fake fans" or "the worst fans in America". There's one thing that is a guarantee though, no matter what struggles the team is having, Richt isn't at fault for any of it. Remember, he's an elite coach and a QB Messiah. Richt just needs Aaron Rodgers and the Dallas Cowboys O-line from a few years ago and we'll be ready to put up more than 13 points against Virginia! (maybe)

Quit whining we all know if the offense plays the rest of our games like it did against Virginia we lose a lot more than just one more game.in fact could lose all of them.whining here on cis isn't going to stop it.pray and drink a lot of koolaid it's the only way to cope with it.but I will say this every cane fan needs to contact the ad/adminstration at the university and tell them do whatever it takes to keep Diaz.we do need him.

Since Tom Brown and staff call the offensive plays (subject to Richt’s approvals and refinement) how is it fair to attack it as Richt’s play-calling? If the play-calling is toned-down or vanilla because the personnel is unable (or unwilling) to train for and execute it, sure coaching staff needs to do better, but hard to say that’s the fault of play-calling. More creative or elegant play-calling requires personnel buy-in and dedication as well as talent to execute. If Richt’s experience suggests (to him) that the OL personnel are just gonna have to improve, learn to push or block better to further the current schemes, is it clear that second-guessing this is so fair and reasonable? JS.

Solid post. Well said.

Do remember though that one of the conditions of CMR coming right back to coaching was him being involved with the QBs and calling plays. So we knew that coming in. Lets not forget we were all pretty pumped with the hire when it happened.

I think he will eventually eat humble pie and hire an OC to turn plays over to. It wont happen this season though.

Everyone needs to gear it down a notch and let's see how the season plays out.

jimmy didn’t know how to coach a Bowl game but he tortured college football in the regular season so. He made us THE U but should have had 3 NCs. I can’t remember hating him.
