We Are In Good Hands

I’ve been a huge fan of his rhetoric from day 1 and I don’t think it’s shtick, it feels genuine to me and backed up by the evidence of how he’s moved. We needed to see it on the field. Year 1 couldn’t have gone worse and I think it would be disingenuous to say I wasn’t majorly concerned. We’ve looked great so far and that restored a lot of confidence for me in Mario’s football abilities.

Yes, it reminds me of another quote from Greg Olsen: "No one loves Miami more than Mario. One thing is for sure, if Mario can't bring it back, no one can."
I’m hoping he’s a career coach here. Like Bowden was for FSU & Saban has been for Alabama…

I feel like he will bring us a title and we will be a National power once again. He’s building his foundation.

If he wins a couple here, the only team he might go to might be the Phins..

“I had settled in far away, but anyone that knows me knows I could not go to the grave without knowing that Miami once again became Miami. That’s why we’re here. We’re working ungodly hours because that’s what has to be done. We’re making a lot of progress, have miles to go, but making some progress. And you guys would be proud of the culture, approach, commitment to elevating the standard as we continue to work.”

I believe.

Wish Mario wouldn't do that.

British Major Patrick Ferguson upon King's Mountain stated that even the Almighty couldn't push him off that mountain.

He's still up there - since 1780.
In the Battle of Kings Mountain, Ferguson died with eight musket holes in him, and he was stripped and pizzed on by colonial troops.

I think you miss the point of the OP. It’s not the result. It’s the commitment and passion. Mario has been committed and passionate from start regardless of the 5-7 result. That’s the idea behind the OP. No one, and I mean no one can claim to love this U more than Mario.

That’s fine but if he passionately goes 5-7 every year he’s getting fired. I love UM football. Nobody can doubt my passion. I’d be a horrible coach. Results matter infinitely more than intentions and passion doesn’t directly lead to results. I do think his passion is helpful.

Full quote:

“I was born of the blood of an immigrant father, from the womb of an immortal mother. This world gave me nothing, I was but a face within millions, yet it was mother Miami who made me one in a million. As a youth I took up arms to defend my mother, sleeping with the dead, hunting foes under a protection that only the moonless night can provide. I led a pack of ********, I slaked my thirst with the blood of my enemies, made love to their women but refused to give them my seed. I was a monster, unfit for compassion or rearing, leaving the lands of my birth far behind in the name of conquest and dominion.

Yet now I return to you, Mother Miami. I have found your house abandoned and your wealth cast to the seas like refuse. While I humbled nation and tribe without mercy, you were struck down and despoiled. It was you who were laid low, your bones broken to crumbs and your belly caved in from hunger. While I became rich, you became a poverty.

Anyone that knows me knows I could not go to the grave without knowing that Miami once again became Miami. That is the oath I swore as I lit your pyre, that is the only warning I have given to your transgressors. Those who sacked your home will have their roof fall upon their families, those who betrayed you will have their hands sown into a permanent U. Those who ate of your table will eat the flesh of their children, those who plundered my inheritance will see their name wiped from the earth. They will be an anathema, a blight, and a waking death will attend their every movement. Orphans will throw stones at their knees as they beg on the street, kings will cast them out into the darkness of the unknown. They will whisper your name as a curse.

I am Mario of Mother Miami. This is my decree.”
