We are in a win win situation boys!

So what counts as failing? I guarantee with a 7 win season, they'll talk about how there was improvement. Blake and Manny clearly has support on the BOT (due to Manny Sr.). ****, an 8 win season might get him an extension. Next season needs to be 6 wins or less again and the stadium should be emptied out to guarantee both of them getting removed. I've seen enough from Manny to know that he won't win 10 next year. It never mattered who the OC hire was. Next season's schedule is even more pathetic than this season.

Díaz fails, he and Blake will be gone. Highsmith becomes AD and he cleans house.

or

Diaz’s offensive hires helps turn around the offense. Defense’s confidence in the offense improves, overall team morale and comradery improves

either way I think we all can agree on this

Check.

Go Canes!

Here's the issue I have with this. The conditions are just right to get Alonzo now, just like they were right when Richt retired to possibly acquire Cristobal. If Diaz exceeds everyone's expectations and proves everyone wrong, great, but if he doesn't, there's no telling whether Zo would be in position where he can even TAKE/WANT the job. I'm a serial optomist, but idk about this.

EVEN IF DIAZ WINS A CHAMPIONSHIP the haters at CIS would demand his head on a stick...

They don't want some "positive fan" like you to ruin their twisted dreams...

Or he does just enough to become an 8-9 win a year coach and we are stuck with him because the Admin is fine with that.

And as a Canes fan that has dealt with Mediocre teams for 15 years that strikes me as the most likely outcome.

This is the worse case scenario. Eight wins is mediocre but Blake would be thrilled with that and offer an extension.

IMO, this is going to result in the worst case scenario. Lashlee manages to get Diaz a couple more wins, which let's Diaz sell "we're improving!" But it's really just fool's gold and it'll be right back to 6-7 when they face a decent schedule.

Specifically, I think Diaz's reluctance to hire Highsmith for a role well beneath his caliber and his reluctance to fire his underperforming friends tells me that he thinks he has all the answers and cares more about winning his way than just winning. The best trait of Coach Orgeron is that he tries to surround himself with those that he deems smarter than himself.

Purgatory.

We play one of the worst schedules in the country next year...and will stumble to an 8-9 win campaign by accident just by getting a normal kicker and seemingly improving the OC.

He'll sell "progress" and our incompetent, apathetic, clueless BOT will eat it up. He'll get an extension with a 973 million dollar buyout and then when we play a normal schedule again....he'll hover in the 5-7 win area.

This program is ****ed with 47 ****s. Nobody in that building gives a flying **** about the program and are more than content to give every ****** to average option an opportunity to slightly outpace mediocrity.

I swear to God it's as if the NCAA implanted their own employees into the Hecht with specific instructions to slow this program down.....perpetual sanctions.

I knew as soon I read OP that all the “fans” would come up with negative 3rd options. If the posters in this thread really feel that way, then why continue to follow the team and frequent the boards? I don’t get it.

You all must lead very miserable lives.

Can’t find anyway with this schedule that we win more than 5 games even with a moderately successful offense. Our QBs are a bunch of stoners, our OL is nonexistent.

When you play a schedule that ******, 8 wins can happen by accident.

A mirage. The DBJ moron crowd on this board will all collectively ejaculate if he wins 8 games.

I trust Highsmith will get it right on the first hire, if the boosters put their balls on the table, and are truly tired of being an embarrassment and decide to pay up! The thing that sucks is right now we cant possibly get any worse. And this is coming from a guy who wanted to hire Diaz, when he had our D playing lights out. But the ****** cant coach, cant recruit, and cant develop. He may get lucky and have King save his *** this year, but the ****** has to go. The more ****ed off the boosters get, the better.

The only win-win situation would be if the entire administration department took a group vacation on the Titanic.

So, instead of doing banners and billboards we should be starting go fund me's to build a janky *** cruise ship. This might be cheaper in the long run

I have no idea when Highsmith became our savior

LOL, WHAT, you obviously dont have a clue what it means and what would happen if Highsmith has anything to do with this program from an administrative standpoint, i could tell you upfront, the consistent fooletry this program has been running under would come to a cease almost instantly. Ill say this, winners breed more winners!
