We are a few plays away for being 2-0 and ranked!

This team wouldn’t get destroyed by UVA at home or roll over and play dead against Clemson. This team has heart and passion but immaturity in learning how to win. Lets not forget Jimmy Johnson getting run out of the stadium against Tennessee and losing 5 games. The year after the NC. I see a lot of hope and potential with this team unlike any we’ve seen in nearly a decade. We started the season on the road with an entire new coaching staff. Relax.

Diaz is the guy. You all would’ve fired JJ and Butch. Give the man time. The pieces are in place...

I like the optimism of the OP. My only wish for this year is we start off quicker. We always fall behind. We need to be ready to punch folks in the face from the start. If we did that last night, we roll UNC. We basically owned the last 3 quarters. Have to be better in the first quarter.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax. If JT doesn’t muff his punt or we don’t miss a few chips shot fieldgoals or don’t allow a ridiculous 4th and 17, we’re 2-0 on the road. It’s not as if we’ve been blown out and not competitive. I see tremendous signs of hope with this team and I see a future. Why?

1) Qb. After 2 tough road games, Jarren Williams looks as good as any Miami QB since ... Bernie? The man is accurate, strong arm, tough and is getting better with every snap.

2) Enos. I played college ball and if guys don’t see his play designs and his ability to adjust, I’m sorry but you’re just ignorant. Guys were wide open last night and against Florida! That’s enos. He had UNC’s defense lost most of the night and had it not been for a holding call that negated a big run, I think we win by 10+. Drops, holding calls... not his fault. That’s on the players executing.

3) Diaz. This team could’ve rolled over and died against Florida multiple times... could’ve done the same down 17-3 to a newly inspired UNC team coming off an emotional win against and SEC team and on the road.

Guys, we wanted Jimmy outta here after his first season and we all thought butch was a joke and flew banners to fire him. Everyone needs to calm down and put things in perspective.

Having that our defense is slow. We might have 1-2 potential players but every player on defense looks like a 2nd team guy except Bandy. Btw, anyone here ever play cornerback? You get burnt sometimes. It happens. Bandy is the only player on this defense that resembles and ‘old cane’

DL sucks, LBs, suck and secondary sucks. Fortunately, our defensive coordinator dials up pretty good blitzes which is why we had them 4 and 17.

We have a new coach, new coordinators! Games like these will happen. We have have a lot of reasons to be hopeful.

Misery loves company. We are 0-2

Your a few more Porsts from being eviscerated...

Yea and I was a number off from winning the lotto. I swear some of you are ****ed in the head.

Time to show and prove. Time to win and stop with all the moral victories ****. I hate to see my squad lose, but I am willing to see how the season plays out. I saw a lot of improvement from both teams last night. North Carolina is not the same team we stomp out last year. The true test will be in four weeks against Va Tech. If we don’t have our **** together by then,I will join the chorus of negative.

Bro, there’s no way in **** our DL should suck. Our DEs should be eating faces. If our LBs suck - it’s Manny’s fault. Period. If our secondary sucks, it’s Manny’s fault. We have a slow, plodding, MLB that can’t make plays in space. He’s been here 4 years and isn’t elite. It’s on Manny.

I agree with 1 & 2. Except Enos certainly got out coached in the 2nd half of the UF game. He didn’t adjust. But, ANYONE with a pulse should see that our offense is very close to bursting at the seams....

Our QB is a ******* stud. Stud. Dan just needs to do a better job of coaching the deep ball.

Well, that’s football, isn’t it. Sometimes there’s not a whole lot of difference between winning and losing. IIRC, During the ‘83 championship run, the East Carolina QB overthrew an open WR in the end zone in the last gasp waning seconds of the 4th quarter and we won the game. We lose that game we don’t play Nebraska for the title, which itself was decided by a tipped pass/failed 2 point conversion.
So we were close in our first two games, but no cigar. So it’s 0-2. This team needs to learn how to win the close ones. Somebody make a play. We’ve lost two games in a row after having the lead in the 4th quarter. You want to put the 4 fingers up, you have to make a play at the end to seal the deal. That’s Miami football. We haven’t done that yet.

And I’m two **** away from being a tranny....

But we aren’t 2-0 we are 0-2. You are who your record and results says you are.

No participation trophies

We are a FG kicker away from 2-0

And we’d be a terrible 2-0 team playing the same terrible football.

To your amazing pass rusher question.

Direct that to the insiders who kept telling us Jon ford is unblockable and Garvin is a first rounder...etc

They give us this bait so we can be happy in the off season and yet like clockwork...those players are even 95 percent to what they claim.

If they would have told the masses.." Hey guys, these guys are just average players, we have a long way to go" the ppl at CIS would actually have realistic expectations

But since all we hear is that " we have the best dlinemen room in the country" and " name be a better wr group in the ACC"

Im not surprised the audience gets ****ed off because of false expectations

I'm never here during the offseason but your description is very familiar, and absolutely the problem. As I've posted many times, the people atop this site are too close to the program. They think they are being objective. That is not the issue. They are not attempting to sell snake oil. They legitimately believe all of their spring proclamations and adjustments are legitimate.

But they simply have no clue what they are doing, from a probability standpoint. It is simple for me to recognize that because I've dealt with essentially a power rating type of approach for 35 years. Whenever someone is insisting, "It may look like this...but it is really this," they are basically not worth listening to. Everything tends to drift back to the beginning. If these players were not ultra elite among their peers from an early age then they are not going to suddenly attain that level just because the Miami Hurricanes are conducting spring practice with CanesInsight reporters watching nearby.

When and if we attain truly exceptional players again, everybody will know it...and immediately. My dad during the glory years said he always loved to watch special teams because you could quickly identify the new freshman superstars. Nowadays whenever a Jon Ford type is touted around here it is more laugh worthy than anything else.

But at least he is superior to Michael Wyche. That is the all timer. I cannot imagine it would ever be possible to surpass Michael Wyche, in terms of someone who had no ability whatsoever but somehow hoisted as a future star here during spring.

We are lock step in this issue.

There are influencers here and while they do not mean any harm, they give a lot of people a false perception of the reality on nearly every aspect of this program. Then its "the coaches suck and I'm frustrated, too, guys" narrative...new coach takes over and its rinse repeat. How many times are we going to point to the number of NFL players on rosters and still act like not every level of this program is mediocre?
