UM played basketball at the MBCC beginning in the late 1950's until the program was shuttered in 1971.

Heard only bits and pieces over the years, so I'm not familiar with the facility.

Did the Canes end up there by default?

As basketball venues and homecourt advantages go, how was it?

Did the MBCC play into UM's decision to pull the plug on the basketball team?

They also played at dinner key auditorium which I'm not sure is there anymore. I'm an oldie, but a goodie.

The Miami Floridians of the old ABA played there as well. I remember seeing Rick Barry when he played for the Oakland Oaks.
