Way too early thoughts on expectations for next year

We went 10-1 this year in the regular season. I expect 11-1 and an ACC title next year.

We need a qb that can throw a forward pass!!! give us that and if he completes above 55% we should roll!!! We should have depth at most of the positions as well.

Unless some very bad *** DL's walk in that door, we better hope for the same record and a spot in the ACCCG. We just lost Moten (SR, I think?), Norton, McIntosh, Chad T. and Trent H. That type of talent is not waiting in the wings to step in. Norton and McIntosh stuck it in us as they walked out the door.

I expect to win the coastal, I hope to win the ACC and make the playoffs which I think is a true possibility. Our OL, DTs and QB will be the difference in taking it to the next level. I am confident Perry is the answer at QB. Hopefully Willis and some other guys can step in at DT and Kul will coach them up. OL is the biggest question imo

The only way Miami defeats mighty Clemson, is if Miami's offensive line makes a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT, and Miami finally has QB whom can lead them to the promise land of the CFP. Oh, and one more notion. Miami needs to find a couple of GAME CHANGING defensive tackles. DT's which will make either 1st/2nd team ACC. hUh.

Why are you so BITTER about Miami's DT's bolting for the NFL?:puzzled: Heck, the dynamic duo gave three years to the program and what not. dUh.

Better QB play and we'll see 11-1, or better.

Wrong!!!! Miami's offensive line will still have QUESTION MARKS next season! And the jury is still out on the RS freshmen. Can he handle the pressure. Can he READ defenses. Can he handle progressions and all that. dUh.

National Title.

That]s always the goal but not likely

I watched the gator beat us in the opening game of the first NC season. It was even more unlikely then and beating NE that year was an impossible team. Then were, at that time, the great team EVER. Being the dominant program we became afterward is unlikely, but we could have won the title this year with better QB play at the end and more depth. We are not far from beating Bama once. Being Bama, that will take more time.

Goals for 2018:

Win more convincingly, lose more competitively

Better 3rd down % (both sides of ball) & in RZ

DRASTICALLY IMPROVE ALL PHASES OF ST

Recruit better locally: Land elite prospects, identify targets sooner (stop being late to the party)

It would be a major upgrade and I'd be ecstatic if he could: 1) Complete a forward pass

Do I seem bitter? Maybe I'm just spoiled. Oh no, I'm not spoiled, I was spoiled back in the 90's and early 2000's, but Trent, Chad and Moten couldn't have given us anymore. See, their time was up, but Nort and Mc may have given 3 years, but only one year was considered elite. Hopefully Coach Kool will start bringing the DT's along more slowly, so they don't feel the need to jump to the draft so they can get drafted in the 5th round. They could've stayed and helped their teammates and their fans hoping for a NC. I don't think either one of them were starving or needing to support a child (to my knowledge). So we'll just call me selfish, better?

I see another 10/11-3 season. We'll be in contention for coastal , probably be us or VT in acccg. I expect the D to drop off, losing four key guys off d line is huge. So I can't see the d improving, the secondary will be improved but the Dl is what makes it all go.

The positive is I expect the O to be a lot better/consistent. The Ol , wr and rb rooms will be deeper. Also more talented.

Qb will tell everything , if it improves they can pick up the defenses slack ( and I expect the O to do that). I really believe Kosi is the guy.

Now if the qb position has same results ....we'll I don't want to even think about what the season will be.

Nah. I still say you're BITTER! How's that.:um1lw: dUh.

So in year three of what people describe as “one of the best coaches” we should expect to win the ACC? Seriously?

10 wins and no ACC title is a failure. This isnt Wake Forest for fvcks sake.

It's too early to tell for me.

1. Need to see who wins the QB position
2. Need to see if we land Campbell or Surtain
3. Need to see who the 10th coach will be
4. Will Richt do the right thing and bring in a play caller? The problem with hiring an older coach, is these guys are mostly stuck in their ways. And we have an older coach with this ancient offense with no motion.

We won't beat Clemson next year, they have draft prospects like Bryant, Ferrell, and Wilkins on the DL who are better prospects than McIntosh and Norton and are most likely staying. Same for Hyatt, their LT.

The offense should be better with one extra year of experience and one more year of strenght and conditioning for our playmakers, OL and QB. The OL will be shuffled a bit in the spring but by fall should be ready. The new recruits at RB, TE and WR will only make this offensive team stronger, faster and more difficult for defenses on our schedule to cover/ slow down.

The defense will be tested early on and I think will rise to the occasion. I don't know if lack of depth on the DL will be an issue as the younger players and new guys want to prove that they are starting quality. And a guy like Wilis will be playing for a paycheck.
Leadership is mostly intact with guys like Johnson and Shaq leading the troops.

Specialteams need to get better. And with more depth at the skill positions it should. Feagles should get better in year two. I am a bit concerned about Kicker bur we have to see what Baxa can do as a Frosh.

I expect another run at the ACC Championship and the playoffs. If not , then a trip to the Sugar bowl and beating UGA or whatever SEC team does not make the playoff.

I don't know how we can expect to exceed this year's record.losing our two DT's. That was huge. Despite all of the spin we are essentially starting over at the position. DE will be strong but not as strong as last year. LB! And DB should be better. To exceed last year's record we need to outscore teams. We're better at RB, TE, WR. Next year's fortunes depend on improvement at QB and OL.

execute early against the average and bad teams, and put those games comfortably in the books by early 3rd Q

continue to find ways to win the close ones (dont revert back to 2016)

run the ball consistently (no boom or bust)

be excellent at Field position especially punting to put pressure on teams especially early

play well enough to overcome bad officiating
