The defense looks pretty decent on paper right now and I would expect for them to be pretty good this year. I think they really just need confidence going into the season to get them rolling throughout. With the first few games being cupcakes, that may be able to really add on to their confidence as a unit to get through that tough stretch in October. Along with that early test from a not so great Nebraska team coming to Miami and a Cincy team that at this point shouldn't really be a big concern for the team. This team has a good opportunity to surprise a lot of people in October if the defense is able to carry that confidence over to get over the hump.

Not many teams can legit run a 4-3 in today football so the notion that a 4-3 will magically make the defense better is false especially based on the amount of spread concept teams in the acc. With that said only 2 teams maybe only 1 has more talent collective talent on D in the entire acc

This board is so disrespectful when it comes to the safety position. People keep calling for Carter to start. Did we not see how that worked out for us last year. Jenkins will be the starter at one of the safety position this year. Ray putting in work this off season. He is down to 205lbs and physically looks good. Oh yeah he has been working out at Sean T 26 dad facility. But keep sleeping on Ray.

Was recently watching the fsu-miami game from last year and Green makes a catch with carter chasing him and couldn't belief how slow Carter was as Green pulled away.

Take out Owens and Howard and replace them with Gunter and Perryman and you will still have a 6-7 defense.
