Way Too Early Depth Chart - Spring Edition - Defense

This board is so disrespectful when it comes to the safety position. People keep calling for Carter to start. Did we not see how that worked out for us last year. Jenkins will be the starter at one of the safety position this year. Ray putting in work this off season. He is down to 205lbs and physically looks good. Oh yeah he has been working out at Sean T 26 dad facility. But keep sleeping on Ray.

Lol let them sleep on Jenkins

Most consistent safety when he was healthy during his sophomore season. With bush, Jenkins/carter, Howard, elder, and burns the db group is the best it has been in years talentwise

Just about what my predicted depth chart is just I would have Moten ahead of Jenkins.

I'm going

DE: Thomas | Hamilton
DT: Kamalu | Moten
DT: Heurtolou | Wyche or Jenkins
DE: AQM | Harris or DJack

OLB: Owens | McCord
MLB: Kirby | Young
OLB: Grace | Gayot

CB: Howard | Elder
CB: Burns | Jackson

S: Carter | Jaquan
S: Bush | Crawford

I'll slot in R. Jenkins somewhere when it's confirmed in fall he's healthy.

That's a defense that could actually do some things if they were allowed to pin their ears back.

I like the option of Kamalu, Heurtolou, Moten and Jenkings inside. Best interior we've seen in several years. What I especially like is the versatility and option to bounce Hamilton and Thomas inside for additional depth and speed as well. Wyche gotta show me he's not a magnet and get of blocks. AQM and Thomas at DE should be one of if not the best DE tandem in college ball. Our LB's should be free to make plays if we play more aggressively. If we play the same BS scheme I'll probably die this season from sheer frustration.

CB starters look solid; THIN there after. Everywhere else looks pretty good. Get the hype train rollin'!!

Too busy to follow recruiting like I used to. The whole 2 deep in the secondary are seniors or juniors except Jackson and Johnson. Do we have any young talent in secondary behind them or "committed" yet?

This is the problem with Golden's failures at recruiting. As soon as you fix one problem another pops up. He always crashes and burns at a position and it affects, experience and quality when he settles for his infamous 2-3 Stars.

As it compares to the vast majority (like 80+%) of our competitors, that is a talented group of individual players. We'll see how they perform.

That's a lot of 4+ star high school talent ... And most are more than 3 years removed from high school.

This is how you determine a staff's ability to develop talent. When they have it, does the team play up to their potential?

Can't wait for the season to start!

No more excuses for this defense. There is talent, there is experience, there are veterans, there is leadership...we have good depth (well good enough)...If they don't finish in the top 15 in all categories, something went terribly wrong and everyone needs to go. Keep Hurlie on for recruiting purposes only. But even get rid of him as the LB position coach. No one will be spared.

May I just ask, What the **** does Trent Harris do to get the PT get gets? I was not impressed at all by him last yr, he was brutal against the run, has no pass rush what so ever... Am I missing something here? Dude got some starts last yr didn't he? I mean does game production count for anything?
