So you don't have to....
* about 300 folks at the game
* student section just as pathetic as UM's section. You would think having on-campus stadium would help.
* Several of the students wearing Fins' stuff. Lol.
* FIU stadium and unis are a mess. The "305" area code all over the place.
* what's with the foghorn blaring before every third down?
* So why is FIU doing this football thingie? Total waste of time.

Why Florida International University should drop football…

…and Once Upon a Time the Canes lost to FIU in a stadium brawl that’s sits on once hallowed ground

It kinda amazes me that they continue to field a team. I can only imagine the amount of red ink on that.
IMO it somewhat dispels the theory that South Florida is such a fertile recruiting ground. If that were the case, I would think they would be able to get 2 & 3-star kids, at least enough to play .500 ball.

There will always be some very talented kids in South Florida, but not as many as people think. For every Northwestern and Central HS programs, there are some really bad football teams. The problem with FIU is lack of investment in program and, tbh, it is understandable given the lack of student, alum and overall community support.

Ehhhh just think there’s too many teams now a days even just in Florida that pick off kids… USF, UCF, FAU, FIU, on top of any mid major school who knows to poke their head down here hoping to pick off a late bloomer.

You are what your record says you are,
Yeah his criticism is warranted but you can’t have it both ways holding his total record there against him while fiu had the most success while he was there. That program is a **** hole.

Their stadium is named “Pit Bull Stadium”. That alone should get their program cancelled.

The thinking is that there’s enough talent in Florida that a team like FIU should be able to field a decent roster with the scraps from the big three. But they’re also competing with UCF, USF, and FAU for those kids. Not to mention, even G5 recruiting has gotten a lot more national. There’s very few “under the radar” prospects these days.
