I guess you deleted 2002 and most of 2003 out of your Diaz slurping mind…And ours.

Najeh Davenport was there and had a solid career as a rotation player.QB is the position where Bama has the advantage. But remember, Hurts spent a year with Riley at OU and took his game up a few levels. He’s not the leading NFL MVP candidate had he stayed as Tua’s back up.
RB: Portis, Gore, and Willis combined for over 37K yards in the league. Gore is a HOF lock, 3rd all-time leading rusher.
WR: Dre was a freak and likely HOF. He’s better than any Bama WR, including Devonta. I’d love to see a young Dre in today’s game. Bama did have more depth, I guess. Unless we can add Wayne (HOF eventually]) and Santana from 2000.
Definitely. Najeh was a pure beast. If only he could have stayed healthy at Miami and the NFL.Najeh Davenport was there and had a solid career as a rotation player.
I know this is unpopular but look at the collection of offensive talent on the 2018 Bama squad.
3 nfl starting qbs - jones, tua, hurts
RB- jacobs, Najee, b Robinson jr, Damien harris
Wr - jeudy devonta waddle ruggs
Plenty on defense also. At least 3 pro bowlers starters this yr in Quinnen Surtain and Trevon diggs
Don't even get me going in this convo....but since I'm here (Lol)....I’m not going to bash u, but u bring up a good point.
QB - Advantage Bama & this is not up for discussion
RB - Advantage Miami. Jacobs, Najee, Robinson Jr, & D Harris r no where on the level of Davenport, Portis, McGahee, & Gore collegiately or professionally
WR - Advantage Bama. Andre is an absolute beast, but he is the standout in that room. Bama’s WR room produced four 1st round picks! Now, so far Dre alone is out performing 2 of the 4 by himself, but Waddle & Smith r looking like future super stars.
TE - Advantage Miami. I don’t even remember who Bama’s TEs were. Everyone knows Shockey & Jr.
CB - Advantage Bama. Diggs, and PS2 r two of the best young CBs in the game. Unfortunately neither Phillip nor Mike lived up to their first round level.
S - Advantage Miami & it’s not particularly close. We’re talking about Two GOATs collegiately & professionally. Add in one of my all time favorites in #6 Mr Antrel Rolle who transitioned from CB to DB at the NFL level winning a SB & making some pro bowls, & this is an easy land slide.
DT - Advantage Miami for now; Bama had Payne & Hand drafted high, but they haven’t really lived up to the hype. Williams is a monster for NYJ, but not on the same level, thus far, as Big Vince who may be in the HOF in a couple of yrs
DE - Advantage Miami. We actually had a 1st round pick at the DE position, Bama’s 2018 team did not.
LB - Advantage Miami. Yeah, none of Bama’s LB hold a candle to Vilma or Williams.
OL - Advantage Miami. Leatherwood has been an absolute bust & he was the jewel on that OL. Carey & McKinnie had very, very solid careers & lived up to being 1st round picks. (Although I should knock Vernon down since his son went to Duke & was an absolute bust).
Verdict: While Bama was a formidable foe, Them Canes from 2001 set a totally different bar, one that most likely will never be seen again. Way too many pro bowlers, and future HOFers this squad produced.
-Reed: HOFer
-Wilfork: Most likely a future HOFer (Already in Ring of Honor)
-Dre: Future HOFer
-Gore: Future HOFer
-ST (RIP): Was on his way to becoming a HOFer & fans petitioned him getting in just based upon the impact he had in such a short period of time
Right there with you. Started around 08I never got to experience it haha. Only been a fan since 2010
We completely dismantled and laid waste that game. Don’t remember how Nebraska got in after getting curb stomped in the Big 12 title game. I thought we should’ve played Joey Harrington and Oregon. Still, it wouldn’t have mattered.
Silly gators. That's too funny. The vols would have been our toughest test. Henderson and Haynesworth were elite. We would have won, but they were better than the gators, ducks, huskers, longhorns, and buffs. They had the SEC championship game within grasp, knocked out Rohan Davey and Matt Mauck became the national championship quarterback that we remember. They were a hard #2 going into that Colorado game, still riding high from knocking off #2 Oklahoma a few weeks prior.
Oregon had was a one-loss team wand had fallen to unranked Stanford mid-season; the Ducks beating #17 UCLA and #10 Washington State weeks earlier.
On paper they should've gotten in, but this was the same BCS era that skipped over #2 Miami in 2000.
We were close to an all Sunshine State outing in the Rose Bowl; Florida ranked #2 the first week of December and falling to #5 Tennessee at home in a make-up game from earlier in the year.
Had the Gators won that one they're 10-1 and headed to Pasadena to play the Canes in a Sugar Bowl match-up from the year prior.
Fun to beat up Nebraska, but would've killed for Miami to dismantle Florida in a title game.
Gators fans love to talk about what could've been in the game; as if Miami didn't settle it 37-20 in the Sugar a year prior, or 41-16 in the Swamp in early 2002. (As well at at home in the 38-33 comeback of 2003, or the 2004 Peach Bowl.)
