On December 19, Hurricanes fans, along with Marcus Allen’s family, were hit with devastating news. The Allen family released a statement confirming Marcus had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and had begun chemotherapy treatment.

Now, with a couple months past, Allen has completed his final set of chemotherapy and has rung the "Victory Bell" to celebrate. The Hurricanes coaching staff, along with some of the players, was there with Allen rang the bell.

On December 19, Hurricanes fans, along with Marcus Allen’s family, were hit with devastating news. The Allen family released a statement confirming Marcus had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and had begun chemotherapy treatment.

Now, with a couple months past, Allen has completed his final set of chemotherapy and has rung the "Victory Bell" to celebrate. The Hurricanes coaching staff, along with some of the players, was there with Allen rang the bell.

Marcus Allen played in a couple of games for the Hurricanes this season, averaging a total of 5.3 points per game and 3.1 rebounds. He than missed the remainder of the 2025-26 season after being diagnosed.



Marcus thanked the Hurricane Nation and the nurses who helped him get to where he is:

"today i completed my last round of chemo! i just want thank my mother for being beside me on this journey! to my family & friends i appreciate you guys! lastly to my nurses i wouldn't be able to do it
without you all!! 6-0 #4STRONG,"
said Allen.
