Can you believe that? Look up every stat. Then think about the help they got in the other two phases.

How utterly maddening is this?

Our defense performed this well with an atrocious offense and an atrocious special teams. Could you imagine our defensive dominance if we had a punter that could flip the field? Or an offense that functioned at even an average level without so many self inflicted turnovers or 3 and outs?

This is by far and away the most frustrating Miami season I've ever experienced because of how unreal and special our defense has been. Just wait until you see the NFL production of these guys.

We are screwed if we lose Diaz. His salary should be doubled with the promise of leading the team. I have no doubt he'd bring in an offensive guru as OC.

If Richt doesn't hire a dedicated ST coach, he's beyond stubborn and should be fired on the spot for failure to perform the most basic of duties.

EDIT: Usage of word "arguably" was done for a reason.

You're high!!!

2001 defense didn't have this offense or ST. Wait for the NFL production. Better DL on this team than that team. Better overall LB on this team than that team although that team had the best ever. Better DBs on that team but Johnson, Redwine, and Michael Jackson will be NFL studs.

This will not go over well at CIS. However, disregarding the win loss and looking simply at the metrics. Your case is flimsy, but valid.

They are 100% championship caliber. It's even more eye opening and maddening with the fact that the woffense and special Ed teams constantly put them on a short field

Precisely.

Some people can't read on this forum - the word "arguably" was used for a reason.

This defense might actually be the best Defense in Miami's history. With better plays at special and offense this defense would have been unreal.

I think you are jumping gun just a little. This defense is good but arguably the best ever at the U? You must have forgotten about the 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 00, 01, 03, 05. Defenses. I'm probably over looking some others.

2001 LB's were better . Vilma and D.J. Williams were better than who we have now, though I like the current players.
