We're officially on upset alert
No. 25 Miami (2-0) at Appalachian State (1-1), noon ET, ESPN. Line: Miami by 3.5.
Ever since Miami announced it would be going on the road to play App State, people have speculated this could be a "trap game" for the Canes. The environment is going to be absolutely bananas, considering this is the first time the Mountaineers have hosted a Power 5 team on their home field. While Miami has put up big numbers rushing the ball, Brad Kaaya has yet to find his groove (11th in the ACC in passing). The defense played well against Florida Atlantic but has depth concerns. We all saw how well Appalachian State played against Tennessee, and it has strong offensive and defensive lines to contend with. Miami has not had a real test yet; App State has. If the Canes aren't careful, they could end up losing to the team that already has one of the biggest upsets in college football history.

I think it's hilarious that the talking heads at ESPN think that the 2007 Applechin State team has any bearing on the product theyre rolling out this year.
If Tennessee wasn't one of the more perennially-overrated teams year-in and year-out, no one would even be spouting this nonsense. But because it was close, that automatically means a Canes upset. Maroons, all of them.
