Wasn’t pretty

Unfortunately, they’re not my statistics, homie. But, go off & let ur prostate hang to ur knees old timer.
Dude, stop being such a negative *****. There’s absolutely no comparison between last year and this year. You literally quoted total D points from the first four games of last year to this year. That’s totally ******* meaningless.

I’m not saying we are the 2001 Miami hurricanes. And it’s early in the season there is no doubt things can go sideways.

But it might help you sometimes to take your tampon out and quit posting meaningless ******* statistics that are totally irrelevant and just enjoy a ******* win against a rival we might not play again for 10 or 15 years. We are 4-0 when the little ladies had us going 2-2

DCs will be crazy not to replicate major pieces of Floridas game plan against us. Florida shouldn’t have been within three planets of us late in that game, but they were with absolutely zero offense.

Dawson must figure out how to move the ball through the air against similar two deep safety looks, there should be space underneath. There’s no way anyone can convince me Floridas scheme or personnel forced us to relegate the game plan to runs and lateral passes all game.

Part of it is Dawson, but part of it is also that Beck didn’t have the greatest of games. There are things that need to be fixed. Especially getting some explosive passing plays which we sorely lacked. It seems that physically maybe Beck needs more rehab time to be able to drive the ball down the field better with his arm. He hung a couple of balls last week that shouldn’t have been hung but at the end of the day, we stomped those ****ers.

Fair, but does that explain a complete lack of underneath throws though? Especially on early downs where you can catch the defense downhill after establishing a tendency all game. If the Florida DC can eliminate everything downfield AND easy throws underneath then god **** he’s good.

We’re in this weird culture now, where ppl think when u bring up a valid concern or point, u’re whining or being a *****.

U’re a funny individual, & out of respect for CIS & ur health care premium, I’m going to take the high road w u. U’re absolutely right, we’re 4-0 & that’s all that matters.

No, it doesn’t explain the lack underneath throws. We were content with flares and bubble screens. You’d have to ask Dawson.

Nah, you’re good. I’m still buzzing and hyped. and just walked in the door from the game. Also don’t worry about my healthcare premium. It’s taken care of. My resting rate is about 57, (except tonight) and I’ll have to look up my latest VO2 max. But if you’re concerned, I’ll look up what it was on my morning run.

If you don’t think I have concerns, you’re not understanding where I’m coming from. And only time will tell, but I’m seeing a completely different defense this year than last, my concerns are more about explosive plays on O down field.

I don’t think we’re more complete. I’ve already explained this in great detail in the “Crow Eating” thread comparing stats, schedule, statistics after 3 games; however, since u brought it up:

After 4 games:
-We gave up 41 points in 2024
-In 2025, we’ve given up 46 points

-Teams we played in 2024 were a combined 7-9 after 4 g
-Teams we’ve faced in 2025 are a combined 6-9 after 4 g

I know we’re in this age of revisionist history, but our former DC, Lance Guidry? Yeah, he was Lance Guidry da Gawd from 2023 - 9/21/2024. Our Def was actually elite from 08/31-09/21/2024.
Our defensive rankings after 4 games last yr:
•Total Def: 10th
•Sacks: T-1st
•TFLs: 8th
•Rushing Def: 6th
•Passing Def: 35th
•Passing Efficiency Def: 12th
•Scoring Defense: 11th
•3rd Down Def: 8th
•Turnovers: 15th

We had an electric offense (2nd), & an elite defense (10th) after 4 games in 2024. U guys forget this, but I keep telling u: I remember it all. So no, after 4 games am I going to tell u it feels different. The only thing that feels different is the offense, & this offenses’ ability to keep teams in games is concerning. Now if after 10/4 we contain a high octane while dominating the L.O.S, I’ll tell u at that moment it’s different.
We haven't left Hard Rock either. It isn't everything but it matters.

Schedule was much easier through four games last season, but I am withholding judgment until after FSU. The passing game has much to prove.

If teams want to copy their game plan, we’ll destroy them on the ground like we did to ND and UF. I hope teams are stupid enough to try that.

I actually think it’s far more likely teams borrow the USF plan of stacking the box and forcing Beck to beat you through the air. He can do it, but he’s prone to mistakes. And if he’s off like he was tonight, then that’s how we could drop a game.
The two teams with the Cornerbacks that you'd actually want to trust on an island went with the umbrella.

I agree with teams in the rest of the schedule. (Still gotta see what FSU is really about). But I’m not convinced we can play that game against elite defenses we’d see in the playoffs yet.

I was wondering where were the TE passes to Central Midfield that we saw in the ND and USF games. Also, the Gates had probably shut down the long stuff, so Dawson wasn't calling it.

Beck had a bad night and had problems picking up safeties. Usually he's very good at this. If THIS is his Bad Game, we're in pretty good shape. Better to have it here than against the Noles at the Doak.

What concerns me are the dead drives where we play Woody Hayes football and keep running into the strength of their DL and then have to punt. Happened in the ND game, happened here. It went for long stretches of the game. Yes, EVENTUALLY our OL wears them down and we score, but we're going to run into someone (say, Georgia Tech in the ACCCG) who knows how to adapt and can outscore us.

Dawson and Beck have to work out the kinks in the TE and outside game if the long stuff is being taken away. And if they are blitzing because they are trying to sack Beck to rattle him, that should be thought of as a gift because it opens up the LB area for a short gain.

We have to get this offense moving again in the 2nd and 3rd Quarter. Gus Malzahn isn't going to wait around for us to catch up to him and will beat our a$$es if we don't.

I think we can master FSU's defense on the ground, but am wondering what Gus Malzahn has up his sleeve with Castellanos. On paper we should beat them.

That said, the Offense went through enormous dead periods last night. Mistakes, bad passes and Woody Hayes Football let them stay in the game. Also, the Gators D showed up (credit to them).

I don't think we can kill drives with dumb penalties and come out of Trailerhassee with a win.

Virginia is an ACC game. Let's see what they do up there.

Miami won, refs stole 7pts, tape on offense will be ugly, center had the yips, mostly healthy with bye week. It sucked at times but I’ll take it, why does it keep raining, stunts are killing the C and cooper each game. Lots to clean up.

pass game this year is unimaginative which doesn’t help when your QB is just flat out off.

Would like to see us spread teams out a bit more get some easy reads. Tunnel and bubble screens to short side don’t count as a real attempt at throwing the ball.

Our OL dominated the 1st and 4th quarters, but they should have had the entire game, given Florida had absent starters on the DL.

No, we aren't the best OL, as people were quick to proclaim them. As I said, back then, we needed half a season before we proclaimed them the best. They are very good. But great OLs don't have back-to-back quarters of inconsistent play, take penalties, and give up sacks against a 1-3 team with three starters out.

Now let's hope we do something about our focus coming off a bye.

Beck’ll be alright. Watching him at Georgia, learned he ain’t a mudder. Don’t like to play in the rain.
He’ze got dat crazy “crack face”, and he don’t like it wet an he don’t like it to sunny. Partly cloudy an 77% hughmidity iz hiz sweet spot.

“Imaginative” is what Mike Leach had to do to stay competitive. When you have more talent than the other team, execution is infinitely more important than trying to outfox everyone.

We had execution issues last night that need to be ironed out before we go to the Doak in two weeks.
