What the fvck are we waiting for?????
Why is this so difficult????
Why is this so difficult????
No way they fire manny with only one game left if they don’t fire him already. Would almost be a douche move after waiting so long.I personally believe they are waiting for a new AD to be announced. If the rumored meeting on the 17th is happening I’d assume a loss next weekend kills Manny then. If he wins I’d bet he finishes the season. I have no sources purely a gut feeling.

They won’t be in the same league as far as coaching pools go.LSU cans Ed O. and they are on a 3 game losing streak. USC has tanked, too. You think this gives Washington a leg up?
Would Washington rate a top job, given their locale? They’ve been bad-to-good-to-great off and on over decades.LSU cans Ed O. and they are on a 3 game losing streak. USC has tanked, too. You think this gives Washington a leg up?
My belief is just that they are going to make the AD move first. I remember when Golden got fired it was a statement from Blake James. Kinda hard for him to make that statement if he himself is rumored to be fired. Again it’s just how I’m reading the rumors being put out.No way they fire manny with only one game left if they don’t fire him already. Would almost be a douche move after waiting so long.
Point being with 2 games left does it matter? The answer is no. LSU is ****ting the bed. USC is now 4-5.They won’t be in the same league as far as coaching pools go.
I wouldn’t say top job, they were really only a good program because of how Chris Petersen built them up, before the Petersen era Rick Neuheisel had one good season there & before him the Legend Don James (Saban’s mentor) had them rolling in the early 90’s & even won a Natty in 91.Would Washington rate a top job, given their locale? They’ve been bad-to-good-to-great off and on over decades.

Those Jake Browning teams were pretty **** good. It's pretty crazy how far they fell offI wouldn’t say top job, they were really only a good program because of how Chris Petersen built them up, before the Petersen era Rick Neuheisel had one good season there & before him the Legend Don James (Saban’s mentor) had them rolling in the early 90’s & even won a Natty in 91.
But all the other coaches in between like Tyrone Willingham & Sark all failed pretty hard at Washington.
On it’s face it’s not a good job, it can be a good job but it takes a certain type of coach to run it, they don’t have great access to recruits, although the Northwest does have some talented players, but Washington basically has to recruit locally in Washington & Oregon, plus reach into Cali, Nevada & Utah (for the Polynesian kids) in order to really maximize their recruiting pool.
But UW is a program that needs a really smart coach who can do more with less, the kind of coach that isn’t reliant upon loading up on 4-star players, but can find gems out of JUCO & Grad transfers & play smart well executed football, they’re a team that wins with detail & precision by being well coached, they’ll never out athlete or out talent anybody.
Guys like Kalen DeBoer, Tyson Helton, Blake Anderson would all fit there if they were interested.
Jonathan Smith, the current HC at Oregon St who is a Chris Petersen disciple from the Boise St days & was his OC for 3 years at UW, he would do well going back to UW as well, but idk if he’d wanna leave Or St because he’s an Or st alum as well.

Better academics than Oregon, but is as attractive as Oregon without Phil Knight money. My in laws live in Seattle, fine place to visit for a day or two and see the aquarium and zoo, but the city has devolved into a **** hole of drug addicts and bums, yet still costs way too much to live there. Would not be attractive for a good HC
Pretty sure he's been fired for being 4-6. Shoving a player is just an excuse to expedite it.He was fired for shoving a player and there are more allegations surfacing that he’s done this before. Apples to oranges compared to our situation
