Her comment wasn't something I was aware of, but it's good to know.If your talking about coaching salaries, she was on record stating that she believed head coaching salaries were already outrageous (I believe this was pre-2007 and Saban...while we acquired Shannon) and basically pledged she wasn't going to let UM get caught up in all of that.
I am of course paraphrasing, and I cannot recall where I read article.
As to my second point, I can see where your coming from, but it always bothered me a little bit to think (wild unsupported conspiracy theory on my part) to think that maybe she profited in some manner by moving UM away from any litigation over the Orange Bowl lease. Again, the City was in breach of the agreement for a loooooong time before they started kicking around the profitable notion of putting the Marlins there.
So, maybe it doesn't save the OB, but the damages were real....not to mention forcing UM to seek a home elsewhere.

As far as the OB, I strongly suspect that's a matter of not ****ting where you sleep. Do you really force Miami's hand on a stadium on its last legs?
