Sapp is an udisputed legend. But ask anyone who knew him who was around campus during those years what he was like off the filed. I'd be shocked if he was ever actually offered a position.

I was on campus during his time there. He was indeed a world class prick.

Didn’t SAPP go broke spending all his money on PF Flyer’s sneakers.
People say SAPP is a hoarder of sneakers filling up his vast house and he has to pick up each pair and revere his collection every day.

You played college football, but fail to understand that the programs that are winning, are 24 hour per day operations. It worked for Saban, who is a Belichick disciple. Kirby Smart runs his program the same way, it was known that Pete Carroll used to live in his office when he was at Southern Cal. The old quote about Joe Gibbs rings true today "We used to come into the facility, and you could tell that Coach Gibbs had never left, his car still had snow from the previous day on it. You can't be out here ******** around, when you know your coach is sleeping in the office". Now, is that the most mentally balanced way to approach life? Probably not, but it's effective for a ton of staffs, and I believe that Mario finds value in building that kind of culture.

There's nothing wrong with taking time off, but you want dedicated people that are looking for every possible advantage.
saban aint working 20 hours a day that's bs flat out. I know that for a fact. You want guys that think sleep and eat football 24 hours a day. Guys like bain, sean taylor, scott who slept at the building but to think someone is going to work an actual 20 hours a day is just crazy.

The reality is if sapp didn't want to be 100% committed in whatever capacity that took which some days may be longer then others then he didn't need to be here.

I promise u that they didn't win because saban was sitting in his office at 11pm playing snake.
The guys u named won in college by recruiting n buying the best players..simple sh-t.
this and his coaching acumen. did will find any mismacth on the field and exploit it until you change over and over for starters. im talking about numerous individual mismatches at every position.
