Dave was not our HC. He was a good coordinator. Sure the fatigues backfired and the Pearl Harbor comment by Jerome, RIP, was the other side of, well, stupid, but who cares. We were not and never will be the Harvard of the South. We lost because JJ and Vinny could not stop throwing the ball. If they had stuck the ball in Highsmith's gut 10 more times we win. Joe Pa was running Al's soft defense that only worked because we just had to throw longer passes(Vinny was not a short pass sort of QB.) We know from painful experience that you can run all day on Al's defense. Plus JJ had not learned how to coach a Bowl Game yet.
