Walter Tucker gone..

His father is a customer of mine and I know he wasn't really crazy about Al Golden. I figured the Richt hire would have been a positive but I guess not. Maybe he just wants to transfer somewhere he'll actually get some burn. It's all good. Hope he finds success.

And that's a great plan for him. These days the NFL will find you if you show them something.

My question will we need one in this scheme we barely used one last year

Depends on if we run Richt's UGA offense, we would use one then, or his FSU offense when one would be used but pretty rare and only in distinct scoring and short yardage situations.

That's blatantly false. His fsu fullback is a good friend of mine & was an all conference 2x & an all American his last year. His name is Zack Crockett. Remember that?

Ummm yeah, nice try buddy. Zack Crockett was a BIG TIME player coming out of Ely High. BIG TIME. He wasnt some unknown who FSU signed days after NSD with his only scholie offers being in track.

If Richt sees another "Zack Crockett" type im sure he will sign him. But that aint Tucker.

Also, Bowden spent years trying to find another "Crockett/Edgar Bennett" type and failed miserably. So they said F it and went to the "One back/3 WR set" mostly during the 97-00 era. Which is the offense I think he will run here.

So Tucker is about as useful as Ryan Fines is at this point. I wish the kid luck. His two highlights here would have been the "FSU block on the long play" 2 years ago and "the confrontation after the GTech game when the GTech players wanted no parts of him" this year.

Fullback is the forgotten position in modern football. Even "pro style" teams rarely line up with a real, blocking fullback in the backfield except on short yardage. Most teams will use an H-back or converted tight end in the fullback role. Chris Herndon is probably best suited for that role here.

3 pages? really? do u people actually think walter tucker has any impact on whether we win a game or not? richt just got the #1 juco in as a walk on. Batten or whatever his name was playing over tucker last year. u guys are unreal. you will sit on here and say Gus Edwards sucks but act like Tucker is the next willis mcgahee. lets end this thread. Tucker is gone and it will have zero effect on our teams win total.

I don't think you can compare tucker to Mcgahee man. Unless of course you are talking about what his floor is.

Bad player at what should be a nearly extinct position at UM. I get a kick out of UM fans waxing poetic about the FB position like we are 1973 Ohio Taint and B0ner Hayes is stalking the sidelines. With our QB and the access to speed and playmakers that we have, the FB should get maybe 6 reps per game.

we need the tackle trap back in our gameplan. it'll change everything.

This kid was so misused.... He has speed and could catch out the back field... I remember a play he caught 1 out in the flats and took it 15 yards and dragging people along... the man could have been a weapon for us...

Beat me too it. I'm really tired of people saying right used a full back in his offense. Richt mastered the shallow cross offense which is from the air raid and fullback Is rarely used. Dude bringin up the first two years of richts career against a decade of him using the shallow cross offense. Does he understand and will implement heavy sets with FB into his offense here? I'm quite certain.

But I'm sure when he says he wants to call plays he's talking about the shallow cross "fast break" offense. I like a Fb. But I don't expect much of it. Especially compared to most recent years at Georgia

Was William Floyd before or after Crockett? Thought he was starting FB for FSU during their first NC? Went on to have a nice career with 49ers. Apologies in advance for this much FSU discussion.

Go Canes!

He if Miami needs a fullback we should take a look at 2016 ATH John Krahn from Cali.

This is him scoring a TD in the 2016 High School International Bowl

Hey what about the LB we signed out of Palm beach last year? He was a pretty good RB in high school

Yeah, i don't understand the act of glorifying extremely oversized/overweight kids like him and McGowan from Baylor. That is incredibly unhealthy and the coaches should be working to slim him down, not glorify his size with special plays.
