I’m fine with Mario for a couple reasons…

If it’s true that BOT members and big donors want him it means they will be heavily invested in his success.

Mario would require real support staff and assistants and true commitment to winning.
 
Mario always seems to have one or 2 of those games a year, but shlt, I’d take one or two a year over three to five. The truth is, there’s only one coach in CFB that doesn’t have those games, and everybody knows his name.

I’m all in on the Mario bandwagon. I wasn’t initially but I am now. He’d be a coaching upgrade, would absolutely kill recruiting down here and should be the one guy to finally fix our Oline.
 
57-58 record. He sucks. Other than a great recruiter he is ***... Won vs Ohio St giving up 600 yards of offense. besides that win he has nothing but bad losses and good recruiting classes

Didn't watch this one, but watched the previous game where they eventually out-talented Arizona (who had a non-P5 QB). It was ugly, uninspired football.

That's my worry with Cristobal - he can recruit, but (although it'd be a much better situation than we're currently in) my aspiration isn't to watch a stacked roster limp to victories each week against overmatched opponents.

Best UM coaches. Howard Schnellenberger. No previous relationship to U when hired. Jimmy Johnson - no previous relationship to U when hired. Dennis Erickson - no previous relationship to U when hired. Butch Davis - no previous relationship to U when hired. Can we just agree that looking for a UM guy is not a prerequisite for being the guy? You have to find the innovator, whether it is offense or defense to take us to the next level as far as coaching.
