VT week...

Rumor that Ryan Willis will be benched at QB and VT is going to start Hendon Hooker against us.

Hooker is a 3rd year sophomore who entered the portal in the spring but withdrew his name and stayed with the program.

He was a 3-star, pro-style QB who is 1/2 for 8 yards passing in his career (pass came last week when Hooker played 3 series in relief of an ineffective Willis). Did not throw a pass last year and redshirted in 2017.

Big kid, he's 6'4 and 225 who can run but is not a running QB. Had some big time offers out of HS. We'll see if he does get the start, but it's been rumored.
Wouldn't be surprised after their pathetic performance last week against Duke. Fuente is in year 4 and the natives are growing restless in Bleaksburg. (flashbacks of Pitt starting Pickett against us 2 yrs ago and he hadn't played in a game, ugh).

Do manny and the boyz get redemption with a solid win? Could it be a turning point this season?

I don't buy that there's any "turning point" moment this season. Every week is going to be a grind as Manny and staff will have to keep motivating these kids and keeping their heads right.

The "turning point" concept implies a lightbulb will go off and this will look like a different team moving forward. Can't see how that wold ever be a case.

Virginia Tech is in much worse shape than Miami and the Canes should take them out on Saturday—but just like a win over Bethune-Cookman left the team big-headed and ill-prepared for Central Michigan, the Canes need to build off a Hokies win and then double-down to work harder for Virginia the following Friday night as that will be the biggest challenge of the season; even more-so than Florida and with much bigger ramifications.

I thought of that also but remember we’re at home. First start being on the road is tough for anyone

It will be a turning point one way or another. If we lose, the entire season will collapse quickly. If they roll, it builds momentum to the biggest game of the year...UVA.

Jarren Williams will have to break out as a dual threat playmaker if we have any shot this year, hes been a game manager so far

I expect us to win with a respectable margin of victory but still not a dominant performance by our standards. Dying to see more creativity and aggressiveness by Enos, deep shots by Jarren so we're more balanced for the Uva game.

VT sucks. And they’re a rival. And we’re coming off of a bye week. And it’s at home.

This is the perfect opportunity for Manny to buy himself some credit.

But god bless him if there’s another lackluster performance and bizarre post game presser.

Lackluster is what burns me up , how can players on a big-time college football team given everything be lackluster and I know we are with out a doubt.
From past performances is there any reason why we won't be flat or play down to our competition ?

I really didn't like when Manny had to stop practice to get the players head out of there POOH POOHS , no good feeling here even as (2) score pick A HUGE GIFT.

We will see what we do with a second chance on TV what team we have , boy I hope I'm wrong to eat crow.

They better figure this **** out and stomp VTech. I'm hopeful with Bolden, Silvera getting reps (maybe a Lo sighting, too).

Happens to every single team every single year. If Clemson and UNC play 10 times, Clemson probably wins by 17+ 9 of the 10 times. But that one happened to be on Saturday. And they got outplayed and out-efforted, as Dabo himself admitted. There's no way to quantify it. But teams just don't play their best every week. Just how it works.

Losing to VT would be pathetic

Their an awful team top to bottom... offense is in the toilet and it’s obvious ole Bud Foster is drinking a bottle or two a day to get through the season

Terrific. Díaz has a history of making new QB’s look like world beaters.

If you expect that same Virginia team this Saturday you're nuts. They're gonna be the most fired up team they field all year just like almost every other team is when they play us.
