VT is overrated ND is the toughest team left in our schedule

I dont think that VT is overrated at all. And while I will agree that ND played well yesterday, I think that USC has been the most overrated team in the country this year.

I don't care how overrated USC is. If you watched that game, ND completely whipped them up. Obliterated them in the run game on both sides, and that USC team recruits at an elite level like we do.

ND is going to test our manhood. They will try to bludgeon us with Adams and get some big chunks with Wimbush. So far, they've done everyone with those two.
Know that they have improved considerably since playing Ga, but they had 55 yards rushing and 266 total yards whole game. The Ga defense basically stuffed run and made Wimbish try to beat them.

UM will have to try to do the same thing to them. We'll see if it works. They bludgeoned the fck out of USC's front and opened gigantic holes.

We can stack the box against ND with the run but we need to tighten the run defense in a serious way. Wimbush didn't beat USC with his arm at all.

VT's QB is a lot like Dungey. Athletic but not a very good passer.

Otherwise they are a good team.

I did not say that it wont be a tough game Just saying that USC has been overrated this year. Obviously, you disagree.

I don't think USC is a great team at all. I do know that they recruit at an elite level, and that game with ND is a longstanding rivalry game. And they got obliterated. That's all. You don't obliterate talented teams like that in rivalry games unless you're playing at a very high level.

Hopefully, they peaked in that game.

Started to read up on ND and they are impressive - probably one of the most complete teams in CFB right now. In Adams, St Brown and Wimbush, they have 3 guys that are playing at a high level. Combine that with a very good OL (2 potential AAs this year) and a good defense this year that's fast, makes them very formidable. We will have our work cut out for us.

Besides a close loss against UGA this year, they've been handling everyone and scoring a lot of points. I'm sure they will handle NC St.

I disagree. VT is tougher because of the game's importance. We can olay with freedom v ND. We beat VT providing we beat UNC, we are in the ACCCG. More pressure

VT defense is top notch. Don’t know enough about their defense, though

This is the truncated version of our 2016' tough 4 game stretch. The result should be a barometer of progress.

Lose 2 of 2: Below expectations. No progress made against upper tier programs.
Win 1 of 2 (ND): Meets expectations. Can still win Coastal Division with help. Marquee win against a quality opponent.
Win 1 of 2 (VT): Meets expectations. In driver's seat for ACCCG and a major bowl game. Marquee win against a quality opponent.
Win 2 of 2: Above expectations. In driver's seat for college football playoffs. Winning even with less then ideal talent and depth. Recruiting boon.

Both teams running games is what worries me.After watching Syracuse gouge that defense yesterday Manny will have to make MAJOR adjustments for us to beat either of those teams.

Virginia Tech does not run the ball nearly as well in year's pass. I listened to Fuente on the pre-game show. They are really concerned because this may bite them in the *** when they play at Miami and Georgia Tech where they know they will have to run the ball well. They wanted to establish the run against North Carolina and did not run it well at all.

1. VT is not overrated.
2. ND is a very good run team, would not call them "complete" because they are streaky in the pass game. Curious to see them play NC State this weekend.

ND is 118th in passing offense and in the 80s in passing defese

They haven't had to pass much because their run game has been so dominant. When you're running it down everyone's throat, why pass?

We will definitely have to throw on them though because they've been very tough against the run.

VT nor ND are overrated but the fact that we don't give the ball away and our defense holds teams below their averages give me confidence in any game going forward.

I think we match up pretty well with ND with our Defense and their Offense. The only worry I have is if we try to get too cute and run stunts all game and they gash us bc our Dline is twisting and stunting and running lanes are created. Their weakness is passing so I would play them fairly straight up and force the ball to the sidelines. Cannot let them go up the middle. Their QB is faster an quicker than Syracuse QB and he gashed us on some draws and room to run around.

On offense this is where Richt has to be on top of his game and play calling. We cannot go into a shell or have a full quarter of figuring out what is working. Our interior needs to get MUCH better at run blocking. Our pass protection has been pretty solid thus far.

VT is good. Glad we got them at home. They don't run the ball all that well, so that should bode well for us. They try to bounce everything outside. I'll need to see them throw the ball against a good team to think their throw game is top notch. They're good though. Best part about that team is those Edmunds lunatics. Those 2 guys destroy gameplans.

ND played yesterday as well as anyone I've seen this year not named Alabaga. If they're firing on all cylinders like last night, they'll be favored to beat us. They've completely turned their team around this year with the DC hire from Wake. And Wimbush brings the legs to the QB position that they missed last year with Kizer. That RB Adams should be a Heisman finalist. I haven't seen anyone do anything with him this year. Maybe they have, but I must not have seen those games. He's the best RB I've seen this year.

Agree on Adams. Kids is a freight train.

I think they are rated right where they should be. That being said they have not shown **** yet. They beat West Virginia , lost to Clemson and have not played one other team worth a ****
