VT easiest power 5 schedule

Fuente and Foster are great coaches. Fuente just had his Charlie Strong at Texas moment, and lost the team for whatever reason. Hard to follow a Beamer, Bowden, Paterno. It's too soon to tell if he'll recover. VT alumni have to be a lot more forgiving than UT boosters. I actually hope he gets run out of town, because he's going to be trouble for years to come.

UVa is our toughest game in our division. But we've seen that even Duke and GT can pop us off when our coaching is disorganized and uninspiring. It's not about the other teams, it's about us. Miami just needs to win the games they should win -- and that includes all Coastal teams.

I was a big believer in Justin Fuente. Him, Herman and Mullen were my shortlist as soon as Golden got run out of town. But things aren't looking good for Fuente. He had a great first season but the next two have been rough. Last two times we've played him his play calling and risk management have been awful. Add in the fact that he doesn't like to recruit all that much and it looks like he's not a coach fit for a big P5 school.

VT will be tough in 2019.
They're about to get Tavien Feaster and they return their QB, 3 of 4 top WRs, TE, LT, LG, C, RT.
They also return 6 of their top 7 tacklers from a year ago.
Keep up the bravado though.

Yea look what happened when we thought Pitt was a cake-walk.

Both teams suck until proven otherwise but I reject the notion that we're going to breeze past them based on last year's result.
Agree. VT is never a team to overlook. I personally am not a Fuentes fan and, as I mentioned above, the wheels seems to have fallen off the wagon up there for some reason. But Bud Foster is, well, Bud Foster, and I have zero doubt he'll have his side ready to play. The Hokies are never a cake walk.

Makes me think how good Beamer really was. Building that program out of nothing and always getting solid teams out of no-name recruits (yes I know he had some big ones too). I wonder if they'll slip into nothing again over the next few years.

Agree. One of the most underappreciated head coaches in CFB history, IMO.

I don't know man, I think they've fallen off the cliff and I don't see this current staff turning it around. Their offense was statistically decent last year. At least against bad teams, they put up yards and points but their defense was hot garbage. Foster's liver is finally giving out on him and he hasn't adjusted his schemes to defend spread teams better.

Seems many here are looking at VT the way the gator looks at us...our team though needs to be ready for all our games. So after we beat the gator, hope we don't get big heads.
