How crazy is it that a semi-retired Mark Richt, with his 1998 playbook and 23 year old son as QB coach, AND Rosier at QB went 10-2 here

I sincerely hope Mario or Lane see how easy it will be to win the Coastal 80%+ of the time

Here in Columbia there is some concern he will leave. But he has said that this is home, and his dad wanted to coach here before he ended up at Va Tech.

If his last name wasn't Beamer, would they be calling him?

Lets get behind Many Diaz to Vtech. Perfect fit for them and him. He could recruit slow lb's all day long from that area.

I doubt they'd make the hire before he's even finished his first year as HC here... I think if they were to hire him as HC they'll wait a few years until he has a bit more experience as HC to give him the best chance to succeed at VT

Not sure if you are being serious... but you should consider how long has he been coaching at VT and how he looked with Beamer's players.

VT hiring Patterson would be similar to when we hired CMR. Except that Patterson has no ties to the area and barely recruits/ has 0 relationships to where he would be going. Plus he's already in his 60s

I don't get the whole "Freeze character issues" thing anymore...If Liberty, which is as just about as religious of an institution as you can find, can find it morally acceptable to hire Freeze, I think he's pretty much acceptable at any other program.

I think there’s few, if any coaches, that could have success there. That’s an Athletic program with no championship level winning tradition in any sport. If by winning they mean a ceiling of 8-4/9-3 with a chance at a 10 win season every 5-7 years, then they’re absolutely right.

Not only no championship tradition, but literally no championships. They and K-State are the only P5 programs to never win a championship IN ANY SPORT.
