Vols Tears

Well good for him. I didn't expect him to get a big school P4 offer. I was hoping we would offer like $300k as a backup to Beck for this season. We are in a tough position. I am hoping Emory stays at this point. We need to ask Judd to move to TE or move on really, but you can’t do that with Emory's situation right now. Judd has the most athletic talent in the room and I don't expect him to ever start here. I think Luke will be ready next Spring so him and Coleman should make for a interesting Spring.
FWIW, Ferman said today it looks like Emory will stay through this season Guess we will see.

He was advocating for them to increase his NIL to stay

The 20-year-old also wanted assurances that the Vols would improve their offensive line and receiving corps this year, according to Feldman and Ubben. Iamaleava's family claims his decision to join UCLA is not about the money, adding that it has to do with Tennessee's offense instead, per The Herd's Colin Cowherd.

Wow

How good is UCLA’s OL, seeing as they were almost the worst team in D1 running the ball last year?

the kid could have just wanted out of Tennessee and was willing to stay if the NIL deal would be restructured for an absurd amount of money. If he was decided to leave, might as well try to up the bag, they said no, maybe he already had plans to bounce. Though it's quite less, maybe there was more to this story and he wanted to be in LA.

And they had ALL that information available to them BEFORE they signed…

We need to be closer friends.

I've been doing my brother's taxes for 30 years. Owns his own business. Barely pays income taxes.

Pays himself $26K a year. Has a 3 story house on 7 riverfront acres in Orlando.

Too many multi-millionaires crying like little ******* about "high tax rates". You don't have to make a ton of money to get ahead. You just have to be smart about it.

DM me if you need any help.

I was just messing with you. I'm a pauper, but I'll need to find a new tax guy next year. Hopefully someone who is willing to claim the dog as a dependent and dare the IRS to challenge them on it.

That "math" is completely fraudulent.

Anyone who argues that Federal Income Taxes will take 2/3 of one's salary is full of ****.

Not to mention that there are PLENTY of ways to reduce the taxation considerably. The actual taxation, not the bull**** claimed in that Twatter post.
Yeah, are they saying his Pay at UCLA is like $1.8M this year? Cause that's like the only way to get $617k in Federal and $210k in State taxes and take home >$900k.

If so wasn't he getting like $2.4M at UTenn? If So Its actually not as big of a NIL loss for him going from UTenn to UCLA. I mean its still a big loss and was a dumb negotiating decision, but it wasn't quite as large as I thought it was....

It's just weird.

On the FEDERAL side, he would pay the same amount, whether he was in TN or CA. Same with federal payroll taxes.

The only "differential" would be state taxes. CA is high, TN is not.

Ultimately, I hope the kid set up an S-corporation two years ago. If not...
