Vols Tears

I don't think any coach wants to go there between their fans on social media and what the admin is doing behind the scenes.

They got a guy fired basically because they thought they deserved a better class of coach. Instead of expressing that to their administration, they used an internet lynch mob armed with accusations (from an unsealed civil deposition that was adamantly denied) to frame Schiano as someone who directly covered up sexual abuse of children.

What coach would want to put themselves in front of that cannon? Especially in 2017 where every accusation is treated as fact and powerful white dudes are dropping like flies every 15 minutes.

Program is poison.

dude, this is how it works these days in universities. there are no open ideas. the inmates run the asylum. they will march and shutdown speakers until the admin gives in. look at what happened at missouri. the social justice hoax movement has ruined higher education.

Yeah wrong on all accounts.

This wasn't the students doing this. This was the internet superheroes, the Clay Travis types. Which is amazing because these are the same guys (like yourself) who rail against "SJWs" for doing the same thing. Everyone's a hypocrite.

Try lighting your liberals are bad fire somewhere else, you're literally 100% wrong.

Adamantly denied by whom?...Schiano? If so, I wouldn't exactly call a weak *** refutal via social media an adamant denial.

Seeing as how Schiano and the guy who made the accusations (Mike McQueary) never worked at Penn State at the same, seems like an incredible tale that Schiano somehow told McQueary in real time that he saw Sandusky harming a child.

So yeah, I'm pretty sure his denial is rock solid.

As alleged by McQueary, it was Bradley that old McQueary that Schiano came into Bradley's office "white as a ghost" because Schiano saw Sandusky raping a child.

We are all so lucky to witness Jimmy haslam not just hilariously run an nfl franchise into the ground, but a college football program as well. Magical

School in chaos--needs wholesale house cleaning---institutionalized backstabbing and cliques galore

The University of Tennessee reportedly fired athletic director John Currie on Friday after just eight months on the job, according to Chynna Greeneof WVLT in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Sources told Chris Low of ESPN.com that Phillip Fulmer will replace Currie, per Brett McMurphy.

According to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports, and industry source said Fulmer "has tried to undermine" Currie throughout the coaching search in hopes of becoming Tennessee's athletic director.

Fulmer was Tennessee's head football coach from 1992 through 2008, and he is currently a special adviser to Tennessee President Dr. Joe DiPietro.

The Volunteers posted a disappointing 4-8 record this season after winning nine games in each of the previous two seasons.

Tennessee hasn't won double-digit games since 2007, and it has qualified for a bowl just three times in the past seven years.

So Shiano got vetoed for maybe, possibly knowing something about Sandusky.

Meanwhile they hire as AD Phil Fulmer of "Fulmer Cup" fame. Besides being a saboteur of the previous AD, he was a coach whose claim to fame is having a record setting number of players arrested under his watch. You can't make this stuff up. You could call Tennessee a train wreck, but it would be insulting to train wrecks.

It's amazing how easily hiring Tee Martin would have been after the Schiano mess. But instead they've humiliated their program about 50 different ways and are still without a head coach.

Tennessee fans gotta be hittin the jug a bit over this. What a shytshow. I guess the smart ones are all at Vandy.

The only thing that can make this better TV drama is if Fuller appoints himself HC and AD --- old school way.

Sumlin just left a place where he went public about getting racially oriented threats. Would he really want to go work for the people who formed a mob and did this to Schiano?

The Tennessee Chancellor is a woman who has a bit of a history championing the advancement of women and minorities in education, both students and faculty.

Might actually be a really good fit for Sumlin ...

Then hire a woman.
