Ranked #53 .. two of these teams were in BCF playoffs and the otheres were dam sure right there. You know how many top 10 defenses made the college playoffs last year in 2014? Not a dam one...

This is not saying I dont want a top 10 defense....but Don't believe what these porsters are telling you about how the world is ending... would I have wanted him over Diaz? **** yes but he is not some god... he went into a great situtation at Wisconsin DO you know what Wisconsins defense was ranked before Aranda got there? Wisconsin was #12 in 2011 ..Total D was ranked #15 in 2012. YEa he took them to 3rd 4th and 7th but lets not act like Wisconsin hasnt dominated in years prior. He spent a year at Utah State in 2012 where they were ranked #14 in Total D very good Aranda. You know what they were ranked this year #17. Is he a great coach?yes. Is he the end all be all? no Why was he so bad at Hawaii where he ranked 82nd and 73rd in Total D?? Did he all of a sudden change his philosophy? No he got in a better situation and in addition got better.. THis is not a bashing Aranda thread this is a look what we can do with who he have thread..


WE get more talent then Missouri and Missipi State..You dont think these coaches are in a better situaton??We have a DL coach that is the #1 DL coach in the country and has made savages for missouri for years.. We are going to be running a scheme that will alolw this guy to flourish. You dont think coach Kool will be having some input into this Defense? Hoping AQM stays........ With Chad, D Jackson , Grace and our Linebackers coming back along with our croots We have the Dudes in the front 7 that can make this defense dominate. We are more talented them MSU. Now We need to get more dudes like Richt said. We cant have Trent Harris at LB.. or Dallas Crawford at safety.. but we can flourish in this system. Hate to quote Dorito but in this system it is about the jimmies and joes.. ANd we can finally let these dogs lose..

last year at MSU ranked 86 in Total D
This year at Florida ranked 9 in Total D!!!

In the same phuckin conference!!!!!!!

Yes he runs a 4-3 that attacks and gets in the backfield!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When defenders of Golden were so quick to point out how we ranked 14th in total defense, I created a thread breaking down how the total defense stat that Golden kept throwing around was a complete farce...b/c to ur point, numbers can lie. We stunk in rushing, 3rd down %, and red zone % and those total #'s were greatly exaggerated by playing teams w horrible total offensive #'s, but when we played teams w efficient offenses, we got our ish pushed in.

Again, to ur point we really need to put things in perspective when it comes to the Diaz hire, what was he working w? Where was MSU before and after the hire? Better situation w better athletes and better assistants could lead to a monster year on that side of the ball for us
 
Had a lot of talent at Texas and didn't do so great. That being said maybe he's learned a thing or two since. Let's see what the defense looks like next season. Any coach worth a **** can do better than what we've been accustomed to the past five years.

If Diaz doesn't turn the defense around then I'll be ****ed but I'll give him a chance first.

Some people never took statistics I guess. Or went to college for that matter. Anyway, I don't like the hire simply because of what his father did to the OB. I hope he does well though, I rather Miami win than be able to say "I told you so" in a few years.

Did you not read how Geoff Collins Defensive COordinator went from a Defense ranked 86 to a defense ranked 9 in one year just by swithcing teams in the same conference??

Your numbers lie again because all 4 teams in the playoffs in 2014 none of then had top 10 defenses!!! So there was no lulck involved!!!!!

As a matter of fact the top 12 teams in 2014 only one had a top 10 defense and that was Michigan State!!!!! CMON MANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was just last year!!!
