Virginia is a very good team.....Benkert was phenomenal today...their line on both defense and offense is stacked and they are 3-4 in the conference. Miami showed grit today..they will not be denied..the crowd helped again

Very deep conference, however, unless other teams start separating themselves in the coastal it isn't going to do us any favors in the future.

Beating a bunch of 6-6, 7-5, 5-7 teams isn't going to cut it. The ACC is EVERY bit as tough as every other Power 5 conference but it's just Clemson and Us with any kind of a resume. Hurts us big time.

I think what makes this conference brutal is the level of coaching you see from top to bottom. There are a lot of tough outs in this conference because of this. We have had a hard time in the ACC, because until Richt and his staff, our coaching was not up to par.

UVA is going to be a tough out with Mendenhall there. Physically they already look way different, especially on defense.

But the only deep conferences are the SEC and the B10, right? It's not like anyone in the ACC not named Clemson is going to get any sort of credit for ACC wins, so it doesn't really help us.

I bet Fuentes and Mendenhall are gutted Richt got the Canes job.

They took their respective jobs thinking that they could come in and win the ACC Coastal - as they're both very good coaches. Instead they're playing for second place because the Miami giant has been awakened.

We are not the SEC, we could care less about this conference. Stop with this.

In reality its us and Clemson then it falls off by a whole lot and is followed by VT and Louisville then it falls down even more and we get to trash.

Never in the past 10 years have I said, oh man we lost our 4 game again, but thank goodness Clemson won, they are ACC, so we won too. Or thank goodness FSU won.

The reality is all conferences are trash with a couple good teams. It just so happens our couple good teams is better than all the other ones

There is nothing in OP that has anything to do with what you are suggesting. He said the ACC has depth, which it does.

The ACC proves its depth in the bowl games. Go back and check the past couple of years. This conference always does well in the bowl games. And those stupid SEC teams usually get trashed, but so long as Bama is in the title game, they are viewed as being good. It will show out again this year, I am sure of it. Look at most of those ranked SEC teams, they haven't beaten a team with a pulse on their schedule... yet they are ranked with three losses...

Debatable, like I said Clemson and Miami are elite. Then Virginia Tech and Louisville are Decent. Then the rest is trash this year, just like every conference. This conference is no different than the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, or even the Pac-12 this year.

He also said UVA is a very good team, which they aren't. No need to prop them up to make this win bigger. Today's performance, particularly in the first half, was expected after the last two games. Miami scored 30 unanswered after they decided to wake up.

I don't think it hurts as much as you think. UM and Clemson are the class of the ACC while the rest beat up on each other. That is parity.

Take a glance at the top four in the CFP.

Alabama's conference wins are against teams with records of 0-6, 2-4, 3-3, 1-6, 0-6, 4-2, 4-3 in conference. Those teams are 4-6, 5-5, 6-4, 4-7, 4-6, 7-3, 8-3 overall.

Oklahoma has opponents with marginally better results. In conference 6-2, 5-3, 5-3, 5-3, 4-4, 2-6, 1-7, 0-8 and overall 9-2, 8-3, 6-5, 7-4, 6-5, 5-6, 1-10 1-10

Miami's conference foes are 3-5, 2-5, 4-4, 2-5, 1-6, 4-3, 3-4 in conference and 4-6, 5-6, 5-5, 4-7, 3-8, 8-3, 6-5 total. That doesn't include ND either.

Clemson's foes are 4-4, 3-4, 4-3, 3-3, 2-5, 4-4, 5-1, 3-5 in conference and 7-4, 5-5, 8-3, 6-4, 4-7, 5-5, 7-3, 4-6 overall.

Unlike Clemson who lost to a 1-6 (4-7) conference foe and Oklahoma who lost to a 5-3 (7-4) conference foe, Miami has beat all of their opponents. That's all that matters anyways.

They're not ultra talented, but they're sound as ****. Well-coached team and we made it even easier for them. They were prepared to move our defensive pieces around easily and, for the majority of the game, shut down our inside zone with easy.

Poor game from the offense.
Probably the worst game of year from the defense.

Got the W and stayed healthy. RocknRoll.

What may matter to you and every one of us here isn't necessarily what matters to the selection committee. If you assume (which I do) that the selection committee is looking for any excuse to ***** us out of the playoffs, then logic goes out the window and it's really just a matter of pulling whatever farfetched excuse they have available to them out of their backsides to justify the decision. Let's be honest - it is a tiny minority of college football fans that will give a rip if we get screwed - and none of the movers and shakers.
