Virginia game

In all honesty, we should beat Virginia handily, like 40-14. I watched videos of all Virginia’s games this year.
1. Their DB’s cannot cover WR’s. They get rep easily beat by avg looking WR’s on fades, deep balls and other mana on man routes.
2. Their DL is slow and the only pressure they can generate is from blitzes you can see coming a mile away. Did I say the DB’s can’t cover.
3. The QB is athletic but relies on a pocket to get his passes off. Also, he seems to run when there is a clear lane. Another works he will look to pass 1st and run second. We simply need to get our pressure, play gap discipline and mix up our blitzes and coverages.
4. #4 is there best athlete and player, concentrate on shutting him down and they don’t have much else.
4. We have too many weapons on offense. If we mix things up they just don’t the uglies air the athletes to hang.

This game will really demonstrate how good our staff is at prepping for an opponent and exploiting weaknesses. If we come out sluggish and are battling them tooth and nail, our problem is coaching. I implore you guys to watch tape on VA, they are a very inimpressive team.

So they're going to get 4 sacks, their QB is going to run for 75+ yards and score a rushing TD, and the Canes are going to win by 6-7 points.

Would love nothing more for our wiry QB to go in there and dominate, but I can't help but think of when Jacory got absolutley destroyed:

What is the strength of UVA’s defense this year?
Strength of defense is the secondary, reliance on the nickel package. likes playing three safeties with Juan Thornhill, reigning ACC Defensive Newcomer of the Year Brenton Nelson, and Joey Blount. Cornerback, Bryce Hall continues to prove he’s one of ACC’s best and sophomore Darrius Bratton has been impressive in first five starts to career. Balanced group that excels in coverage but is strong in run support.
What has impressed you most about QB Bryce Perkins?
When Perkins arrived was that he was tremendous runner. Proven through five games that he’s much more than a runner. Third in the ACC in passing yards per game (225.0), third in completion percentage (63.5), and tied for second in passing touchdowns.

This UVA team will be ready for us. If you don't realize it by now, you might have the laser vision of Stevie Wonder, but every single team we play gives us their best game, especially on the road. Teams rise to the challenge when they know they are playing us. Any game we play on the road and win by one point, I'll be extremely happy about. Hopefully one day we will put an entire 60 minutes worth of great football together in all three facets of the game. All I'm hoping for at the end of the regular season is 11-1. Would I bet $$ on it? No way Jose.

Im with you, Im hoping to be pleasantly surprised by a comfortable victory.

Another factor is that this is the first start for Perry on the road, another interesting variable

After getting spanked by Pitt nobody here should be underestimating anyone

Bull**** on there secondary. That must have been a preseason evaluation. There DB’s were getting beaten on jump balls. And fades against the #2 WR on NCSU. Their DB’s made Indiana’s WR look like Jerry Rice. No way there DB’s match up.

Remember this is from a UVA beat writer he's going to be bias. And may only recognize their type of quality players. Not concerned. Fodder to read

We are not an elite team.

Depth is poor, fairly significant talent dropoff at the 2-deep, except maybe at the DL and WR.

Where there is 2 deep talent, it’s very inexperienced.

People fail to look at our team objectively.

****, I had @DMoney telling me last week how we were way more talented than FSU, when a simple comparative look at the last 5 recruiting classes tells a completely different story. Yes, FSU talent plays like *** most games, but never against Miami.

The most important factor is we have a QB that’s still transitioning into his starting role and has his training wheels firmly attached.

For all the above reasons, any blowouts going forward this year will be pleasant surprises.

I expect a struggle at Virginia, I will be happily surprised if we handle them early.
Thank you... I enjoy realism verses hyperbole... and you here can get away with it too.

check the vid...they really aint too shabby and we will get their BEST game...So they could give us problems.

being said,...if we show the **** we win by 2 TDS....but that's the question, will we REALLY show up?

Their only impact player is Burns. We have two guys like that at DE. And their QB is good. That’s it.

Their OL is the worst in the ACC, their pass rush (aside from 99) is weak, and their back 7 is terrible. Skill positions we are way better. 90 and 21 are good DTs, but nowhere near a Gerald Willis.

We are on a different level talent wise. Their evaluations have been horrible.

Their DTs Wilson, Christmas & Jones are excellent. If I'm not mistaken Wilson and Christmas were 5 star and high 4 star respectively.

Akers is a talented back. Not as good as Cook and not quite up to his hype but he's a stud athlete definitely. Would probably shine in any other offense.

Samuels will be a great DB for them. They've got ballers. The problem is they have too many holes in entire position groups. Namely they had a serious talent dropoff the last two years at WR & OL and never did anything about it. This year LB has fallen as well. #5 is their only real LB.

They run some things on offense that we struggle with defensively and our offense takes large stretches of the game off. Expect a fight like most every week
