In all honesty, we should beat Virginia handily, like 40-14. I watched videos of all Virginia’s games this year.
1. Their DB’s cannot cover WR’s. They get rep easily beat by avg looking WR’s on fades, deep balls and other mana on man routes.
2. Their DL is slow and the only pressure they can generate is from blitzes you can see coming a mile away. Did I say the DB’s can’t cover.
3. The QB is athletic but relies on a pocket to get his passes off. Also, he seems to run when there is a clear lane. Another works he will look to pass 1st and run second. We simply need to get our pressure, play gap discipline and mix up our blitzes and coverages.
4. #4 is there best athlete and player, concentrate on shutting him down and they don’t have much else.
4. We have too many weapons on offense. If we mix things up they just don’t the uglies air the athletes to hang.

This game will really demonstrate how good our staff is at prepping for an opponent and exploiting weaknesses. If we come out sluggish and are battling them tooth and nail, our problem is coaching. I implore you guys to watch tape on VA, they are a very inimpressive team.

this game is huge in this sense - there is a bye week coming up as they ready for BC on the road. Just get to 6-1 and with some momentum going into the stretch run.

going on the road after a big rivalry game that was pretty physical, as far as Im concerned, just get outta there with a W

Just watched some of their highlights... Perkins and Zaccheaus are nice players, but the rest of the team is JV. I agree that the coaches should have us ready to roll in this one.

I'm just glad we know going into it that it's a running QB.

Manny for the love of God put a spy on him and shut it down

If we do that then they can't keep up with us in points

Don’t underestimate UVA. They’re a decent team with a dual threat QB and we always struggle in Charlottesville. I expect a close game with us possibly pulling away in the 4th quarter.

Im with you, Im hoping to be pleasantly surprised by a comfortable victory.

Another factor is that this is the first start for Perry on the road, another interesting variable

I respect that you (presumably) watched the whole game last weekend and came away thinking we should easily beat UVA. There was certainly nothing about it that points to literally any outcome being possible. Nope, there's like 101% chance we completely dominate UVA.

The Db’s are not very good. Perry will have space to drop dimes in there. We just have to trust that we have the athletes to make the plays. Brevin should have 6-8 targets. JT 6-8 targets but deep. Harley all the intermediate routes. Hightower, Wiggins (maybe more) and even Mallory should be given some shots down the field. Cager gets all the fades and end zone jump balls. Homer & DJ should get there share of runs but also passes out of the backfield. Too many weapons, just need to let them go

I am basiing my opinion on the UVA games I have seen this year. I watched their games versus Indiana, NCSU, Richmond, Loserville and Ohio. They are simply a very average team.

They gave us a run for our money last year at home, their QB is still completing passes on us. I don't think it will be easy, but we should win!

One big variable. UVA has not seen the type of athletes we have. They cannot scout for something they clearly don't have. I'll be there.

I agree with your points, but a couple of things UVA has is team discipline (They don't beat themselves) and above average coaching.

Speaking about coaching. I believe Mendenhall still calls both offense and defense plays (I know he did last year). Just not a good look.

This team needs to show up and handle their business like an elite team by not playing down to the competition, but by playing to a standard. This game should be over by halftime. It's up to the players and coaches to make it happen. Final score should be 42-10 or 42-14. I give UVA 1 opportunity to score in the 1st half because of the home crowd and hype. After they get punched in the mouth and their dreams of an upset are dead, they will score once more in the 4th quarter during mop up time. I could be wrong, but this is how it's supposed to play out if this Miami team wants to be taken seriously on the national level.

We are not an elite team.

Depth is poor, fairly significant talent dropoff at the 2-deep, except maybe at the DL and WR.

Where there is 2 deep talent, it’s very inexperienced.

People fail to look at our team objectively.

****, I had @DMoney telling me last week how we were way more talented than FSU, when a simple comparative look at the last 5 recruiting classes tells a completely different story. Yes, FSU talent plays like *** most games, but never against Miami.

The most important factor is we have a QB that’s still transitioning into his starting role and has his training wheels firmly attached.

For all the above reasons, any blowouts going forward this year will be pleasant surprises.

I expect a struggle at Virginia, I will be happily surprised if we handle them early.
