Virginia and Louisville Lost đź‘€

Whether Miami makes it in the ACC CG or not may not matter for the CFP. If Miami is #16 when the polls come out, wins out, and 5 teams ahead of them lose over the next 3 weeks, Miami is ranked #11. That might get us in.

Mind you... there are some very likely losses coming for Oklahoma, Texas and Vandy. There's a path if we win out.

If Duke wins out, UVA would have another loss since they play each other next week.
 
Until all the 2 loss and 3 loss sec teams stay ahead of Miami. Plus even if they are ranked higher all of a sudden that last week teams will go up ahead of them because the committee decides who makes it. This is also assumming Miami dont drop another game, which is most likely not gonna happen.

GT can just go ahead and win out and get in, or lose to BC & Pitt. All the while Miami wins out. If I'm not mistaken that would leave Miami 6-2 and everyone else 5-3.

I also will say. If we and ND both win out. Depending on how dominant we are in games including the game against Pitt assuming ND wins that game. I think the committee will have pressure to use the head to head as a deciding factor with us and ND.
 
These losses definitely helped us out not only to move up in the rankings but give better scenarios for a path to the ACCCG

Gotta win every week though it’s the only thing we can control… style points to boot can’t take the foot off the gas and win a nail biter by 3 and expect the committee to be impressed with 2 losses under our belt

Its tough. I wonder if its actually better Odds for us if SMU beats Louisville. Sure it basically guarantees SMU the tiebreaker over us and them into the ACCCG, BUT a Louisville win against SMU makes it so Louisville, SMU, and US all have 2 ACC losses, And both would have the tie breaker over us. So Louisville winning that game may legit just lock us out of the ACCCG immediately. I mean sure its better if Louisville in that sense that either Clemson and Cal beating them would put it right back to 1 tie breaker over us. But I think it's just better if we immediately eliminate one from contention...

And no matter what we need Pitt to beat GTech, Wake to beat Duke, and UVA to drop another to Duke/VTech. I feel like UVA dropping another game is going to happen. The big one is Pitt against GTech. If Pitt doesn't beat GTech, yeah we absolutely need Louisville to beat SMU AND Clemson AND Cal to win against them...
ALl of it is just unlikely. We just need to win out and hope that does enough to rank us top 10.

I’m honestly not even worrying about the ACCCG at this point. If Mario can somehow figure out how to win out and get back to #10 or 11, we are in the playoffs which is all that really matters anyway.
 
Here’s really all that needs to be said in terms of how much last night helped.

Yesterday morning, Miami was 50/1 to win the ACC.

They are now 15/1.

Also +350 to make the playoffs. Which is the 16th best odds.

Neither are likely, obviously. But both are still possible. If anything, you should be able to motivate your team with this information. We very well might miss Charlotte and the playoff by finishing 3-0, we don’t know, but you can genuinely look your kids in the eyes and tell them 10-2 has a real shot to get you a ticket to the dance.
