Virginia and Louisville Lost đź‘€

I think we got a lot of help as an At large. Because the losses that happened tonight with teams ahead of us were the least likely to happen. Other teams ahead of us this is what they have left:

11. Texas @ Georgia, vs A&M
12. Oklahoma @ Alabama, vs Mizzou, vs LSU
13. Utah should win out
14. Virginia @ Duke, vs Va Tech (but will they drop below us now?
15. Louisville vs Clemson, @ SMU, vs Kentucky (how far will they drop after tonight)
16. Vandy vs Kentucky, @ Tenn
17. Ga Tech vs Pitt, @ Georgia
18. Miami
Vandy is losing to Tennessee to end the year, which is a massively overrated team. Bama and UGA can bury OU and Texas next week. Mizzou is out with Today's loss. Tech won't beat UGA, need them to lose to Pitt. Either way, 10-2 Miami and 10-2 GT vying for an at large = us getting it. GT has the same issue we had last year, no good or ranked wins.

What y’all think do we have a shot ..lol I know wishful thinking
Not really.

Have fun- has remaining games and tiebreaker rules built in

We have better chance at an at large bid then getting to acc title game if I’m not mistaken

If Miami wins out (big if) I would be SHOCKED if we aren't at least waiting until after Conference championships for a resolution.

Too much mental gymnastics for me at this point. I guess we’ll move up to 16th on Tuesday. We need to be at least 11 by the end, maybe 10 if two G5 teams get in.

Yes, SMU could lose another one, but we need SMU to lose 2 more ACC gsmes. They hold the tiebreaker with us. I don't see SMU losing 2 more ACC games for a total of 3 ACC losses.
Ah yes that's right I misread. They finish off the year going to Cal. Won't be an easy game. Either way, UL is definitely losing another one. UVA is too. We would win the tiebreaker against UVA or GT, on account of our better opponent records.

Amazingly, the issue would be 5-4 Duke. If they win out, they'd be 8-4, but with only one conference loss and would get in over us. So we need Duke to lose another game too.

However, Cal could give SMU problems.
If you get a cluster of teams tied with no clear H2H scenario it moves to the next tiebreaker. Idk how it works, but we could get in over SMU based on tiebreakers if it’s us, then, Pitt, GT etc with two losses.

Sadly, yes it would work that way. Duke has only 1 ACC loss, Miami has 2. Welcome to college football in the day and age of super-sized conferences without divisions. It comes down to the luck of the draw in the conference schedule.

Miami’s chances just went from none to slim. But tonight was massive for at least having a heartbeat.

I know, I know. They’ll lose out. I get it. Maybe they will. But I’m a weirdo, I root for Miami to do well. I’m gonna watch these stupid games anyway, may as well have the results benefit the program I support.
True I told myself I’ll check out after last week but here I was yelling in my living room when Cici got a TD lol

Depends on tiebreakers. If Duke wins out they’d win the reg season championship. But there could be Miami, GT, Pitt and SMU with two losses. Who gets in that scenario I have no idea.

How would it be between Miami and Duke if they both win out? There are still like 3 or 4 teams ahead of Miami.

Nope. Head to head is #1, this is why we need Louisville and SMU to have 3 losses. They would own the tiebreakers at 2 losses.

The next factor is common opponents. We Lost to Louisville and UVA beat Louisville. This is why we need to beat VT and VT to beat UVA. We would own the tiebreaker based on the records of the ACC teams each team beat. A tiebreaker with GT would be PItt. Pitt beats GT and we beat Pitt.

Those are the tiebreaker scenarios.

Basically need

-Clemson to beat UL
-UL to beat SMU
-Duke to beat UVA
-Wake/UNC to beat Duke
-Pitt to beat GT
Won't UVA and SMU go in this scenario? SMU would have H2H tie breaker vs us, and UVA would have common opponent tie breaker (Lville)
