Watched the game. Made the mistake of figuring they'd cover 6.5 no problem.. They're absolute cheeks. Okay upfront but their dBs are awful.. QB is typical for them. Good arm, decent athlete, erratic. They have some good backs. Nothing at WR. Pretty typical VT but shi**ier.. Will be shocking if we struggle with them this year.

DBs was horrible. That’s a position VT always had in the past

Which is sad. Beamer kept talent at Tech. Especially on defense with speed. I’m convince their coaches don’t know how to evaluate talent.

Thing with Beamer at VT is that he didn't keep much local talent as his school is located in a very remote corner of state, right across from state of WV. He was actually pulling talent from talent rich Tidewater, Richmond and metro DC and Baltimore area. But alot of schools in nearby NC and PA are just as far or close to those regions and now you have SEC schools picking those areas as well. Every big-time school is on to those players these days. It also helped Beamer that during his program building that Maryland and UNC were trash....Maryland doesn't win much but they are picking up some decent talent and UNC is doing better too....Really, ACC is kind of hampered by having too many NC and VA schools in conference.
