Anyone familiar with UM hoops history going back 30 knows we always seemed to feature good FT shooting. This last go round was the anomaly.Hilarious bro. Definitely the first time I've seen this joke made.

You don’t go from top 10%(an 85% FT shooter is in that group) to bottom 20%(Thats what a sub 60% shooter is) without some major injury. a weird volume issue, or a horrific case of the yips. Summer league numbers are meaningless in this context because of the absurdly wide variance. In summer ball he was over 85% from the free throw line
Sub 60% is terrible for a PG. This isn't a fundamentals thing, it's a getting into the gym and working thing. Bad FT shooters tend to remain somewhat bad, with some unique exceptions. You don't go from terrible to great, you go from terrible to average(at best) with a TON of hard work.See it often nowadays. No real focus on fundamentals playing 1,000 AAU games per summer. He'll get that % up.
As a Junior at Sidwell Friends in DC, Lewis made 83% of his Free Throws. Didn't see any HS numbers beyond that season.Sub 60% is terrible for a PG. Lewis becoming a 70-75% shooter would be a significant improvement and that's what I'm hoping for.
How can someone drop that much? That’s the part I can’t fathom. There has to be a rational explanation why.As a Junior at Sidwell Friends in DC, Lewis made 83% of his Free Throws. Didn't see any HS numbers beyond that season.
Three Point-wise, he was known as a streaky, rather than a pure shooter -- 37%+ in that Jr year. Typical for Lefty's imo (only a few Chris Mullins' types).
Only statement I found was "Lewis, a left-handed shooter, has worked on a specific free-throw routine to keep his shoulders square to the basket to improve his percentage."How can someone drop that much? That’s the part I can’t fathom. There has to be a rational explanation why.
