I completely agree with @ball915. Its not just that very few fanbases are happy. I tend to think that the Portal and the end of the Covid year kids has finally gotten to a point where everyone's roster has a hole or two in it. There are few, if any totally complete teams. The 2025 Canes were certainly a much more complete team than this year's. I think that's common across CFB.


Steve Sarkisian did a really good interview with (I think it was) Josh Pate during the off-season where he talked about the reality of competing at the upper echelon in college football in the NIL era. He talked in a hypothetical sense about landing a 5 star O lineman who cost seven figures to land. However, there's no way in **** he's gonna start that kid in the first month of the season against Ohio State or at LSU or at Tennessee. So you either have to spend your NIL money on a bunch of one and dones or continue to spread it out across the roster, which can leave holes.

I just think every team has some holes.
 
I don't ever want to feel that cold dark cellar again and watch other teams reap the benefits.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that any team sitting up high right now can not find themselves in that place real quick.

We're talking about people investing millions, and they expect to see dividends at the end of the rainbow.

They expect this team to not just make the playoffs but to make it far because of that money. Nobody is going to keep dumping that kind of money into something to miss the playoffs or watch that investment get sent home 1st round.

20 some years in the basement is a long time, and if somebody gets mad because they see something off. As long as they aren't threatening another person to do physical harm, making things personal or being racist, I don't care how ****ed they get, just keep it team related.
 
I’m happy with the season so far

Disappointed with the injuries and the young men who put in all that work for a short season

Also disappointed that the coaching staff is going to let the interior of the line probably cost us a game before they make a move.
 
you must not never want to win the ACC. We all know what red flags look like, we ain’t new to this. Mario and Mirabal botched the OL moves this offseason. Now there are holes and if they don’t make the right adjustments those holes will get bigger and eventually cost us of our goals this season.

Even if they make adjustments, it still might not be enough to cover up the holes they neglected over the offseason.

I’m neither happy nor miserable. I’m waiting to see how the team responds. Could be what we needed to kick the players in the *** and get them back to 1-0. Could also be like the middle games of last year where we flounder around and struggle to make the playoffs.we’ll find out over the next few games which way the team takes us.

I will tell you what though, I am ecstatic for Ethan O’Connor. We sure needed a play and he delivered.
 
Unhappy we might miss the first 7 minutes of the game due to Hawaii vs Wyoming before our game on the CW.
 
I'm unhappy because we're still glazing last year championship runner up. Wtf we are getting soft. Never won the ACC, were paying money for what....to hang out with the poor folks. At least in our Shapiro days we had 3rd strings going in the 1st rd.
 
Both things are true. There's a whole lot of unhappy fanbases right now and our interior O line isn't up to the task as they are right now.

Of course they should be happy since they have been in the abyss for a long time but crowning themselves "back" after beating the USF Tigers is laughable. I don't care if it was on the road.

It's kind of amazing. Thus far the ACC has officiated The Canes more fairly than I've ever seen in 20+ years in this conference. This is what our games would always have looked like if we'd gotten officiated fairly (3-5 holding calls on opposing offenses). Now that it's happening fairly, people outside of Miami see it as cheating for Miami.

Back when a Taco 12 pack was $5.99.. Now it's $24. Heck the Beefy 5 Layer burrito didn't even make it's $0.89 appearance until 2009. Now it's almost $5. Speaking of Taco Bell, what were your thoughts on the Choco Taco? MMM mmm good. That was back when a man could still smoke a heater in his own car with his family in tow without getting self-righteous looks from all these hybrid men in tight jeans. I swear. And now a pack of Marlboro cost me $14 and I have to wash it down with something called Baja blast. Take me back Lord take me back..

This is a huge problem in College Football right now. People need to understand that the massive investment simply gives you a chance. It guarantees absolutely nothing.

See Texas, Oregon, ATM, etc.

Without spending money, you have AMOST no chance at doing anything significant on the national landscape.
