Vandy jumps Miami in latest AP Poll, is TOLD YOU SO too early?

It's entirely subjective to fit their agenda. Week to week, team to team.

Yeup. Last week, a 7-3 Illinois was ranked 21st above an unranked 7-3 Washington despite Washington beating Illinois. Pitt beat Wake Forest, but I expect Wake Forest to go unranked despite having wins over UVA and SMU while losing to GT by one point. Wake Forest is 8-3.

They received two points in the AP poll; none in the coaches poll. Penn State, 5-6, received 4 votes in the coaches poll lmfaooo.

they never jumped us. they were always ahead of us in the coaches and AP. we jumped Utah
Yep, and we will probably jump them tomorrow when they release the new playoff bracket and be # 12. However, that doesn't solve anything as another poster pointed out. We would still be out as the #11 and #12 spots will currently go to ACC champ and G5 champ. We still two out of Bama, OU, and BYU to lose.

I think we jump BYU if we go 10-2 and that gets us in. it would be nice if OU did lose though.

BYU going to play Texas Tech in the BIG12 championship. We jump them if they lose. If BYU wins, I don't think we jump Texas Tech.

OU isn't losing to LSU. LSU is garbage. They might be held scoreless. Possibly Auburn vs Bama? Might have a small chance there.

That's dirty work - if we beat them they'll no longer be ranked.
It’s fine as long as SMU wins because then our loss is better. But, now we’re back to last year’s conundrum. Syracuse finished ranked 21st at 9-3. The main difference is that SMU will have a chance to climb more if they beat UVA/whoever else in the ACC championship game. But I’m unsure if that’s going to be enough.

Last year they put Bama above us because they were better against teams .500 or above (notably, Bama lost to two 6-6 teams in Vandy and OU LMFAO); 6-1 (including a FCS team…) versus 4-2 for Miami as well as 0-1 against ranked teams versus Bama’s 3-1 against ranked teams (Tennessee).

Notably; we were ranked above a 9-3 Ole Miss who beat UGA + South Carolina because our mutual opponent in UF lost to us and beat Ole Miss.

if we jumped them last week why would we get jumped by them?
because the committee is full of bs and will say that based on the "eye" test they look better.... they'll use any excuse. Again, it's not about Vandy. just sub any team in there. if Vandy gets beat by Tennessee and Utah routes Kansas and we barely beat Pitt they could put Utah back in front of us. The point is this subjective voting is garbage.

I agree with the premise. Bottom line is we need Vandy to lose next week. They beat Tenn they may jump more than Miami. My guess is they jump us this week. The committee is a biased bunch of twats, with clear biases and no really process.

I still think Miami will be ahead of Vandy in the CFP and that even if not, Tennessee beats them in Neyland.
Either Vandy or Utah will be in front of us; otherwise, we’ll be in the same comparative pool as ND and they will have to acknowledge head-to-head. They don’t want that.

Our only hope is that they move ND up. I just don’t see them moving them above OU, who just beat a ranked Missouri team. But if they do, ND would be in the 5-8 pool, not the 9-12 one, which gives them the green light to move us up if they want. Do I think this happens? Absolutely not. The SEC is already ****ed they are above Bama. If they then jumped OU, people would burn the committee at the stake.

Yes, it's too early.

CFP rankings come out Tuesday night.

Vandy was already ahead of us in the AP.
