So you dodge my question to make the point that the WRs wouldn’t look as good with our backup QB, well no **** Sherlock the whole offense would look worse with Emory starting he’s a backup QB for a reason. Beck is the starting QB n I’m willing to bet they’ll look just fine with him this fall. And when they do I wanna see if you give all the credit to him like u did Ward 😅
Well to be fair, many of these same guys were laughing at Mario for continuing to press Ward after he said he was going to the NFL…😂😂😂

What’s with the Nick on Nick violence ?
No violence here at all Cribby. The guy just doesn't like opposing views and loves to use FU in his jargon. We are all Canes fans and have a passion but many of us see things differently which is not only okay but is healthy for debate. Looking at several of his comments from others too if you don't agree with his position he gets very upset then rants like a little screaming child. Have a great weekend and I hope VANCE makes it to the UM campus soon.

Stay with me..

Great Qb (Ward) + Good/Great WR play = Great/Elite offense… #1 in the country

Good/borderline Great QB (Beck) + Trash WR play = See UGA + Beck last year (hence y he’s here instead of the NFL despite being projected the top overall QB)

If you think Ward would make any random WR core look as good as we did last year n nobody else deserves credit then this argument is pointless anyway.

Well to be fair, many of these same guys were laughing at Mario for continuing to press Ward after he said he was going to the NFL…😂😂😂
Yeah I remember all the "Just get Will Howard Ward is taking too long" & " Ward & Howard are 1a/1b" posts :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Agreed. I said as much about Beard.

However, to say “we gotta give Beard his flowers because look at what the WRs did last season” as if 80%+ of that wasn’t a direct result of Ward is ridiculous.

I view it more as coaches being the final 10% of the equation. They can make the difference if all else is equal. But as we see time and time again it’s the Jimmies and Joes that make the difference.

Pretty much agree.

As for WR development, I'd ROUGHLY give 1/3 credit across the board.

1/3 to the WRs themselves, as hard-working guys tend to get a little better year-over-year.
1/3 to the QB, no doubt.
1/3 to the WR coach, who AT LEAST had to ingegrate a new guy (Sam Brown) and help Horton to elevate.

Some of those 1/3 credits may be a bit higher or lower than 33.33%, but all three should receive some credit.

I would also say that our RBs and TEs probably would have looked like **** with Emory as the starter.

It's not 100% on either the coach or the player. And it's not 0% on the coach or the player.

Beard is a pretty good, not great, recruiter. Beard is a pretty good, not great, WR coach.
Wait a minute. Are you tryin' to say that the truth is somewhere in the middle and not an all-or-nothing proposition? Be careful trying to introduce new ideas, like perspective and a different way to interpret data, to CIS. There are too many soft-shouldered narcissists who try to pass their biased opinions on as facts, all in an attempt prop up their fragile egos and present themselves as more important than (not then) they really are.

But that's just my opinion!

This is all i was trying convey, credit goes all around to me, Ward did his part at an elite level but the WR play also made his Job easier. & vice versa

Cant believe I didn't realize this dude was white until yesterday.

Long game, we prefer that to just getting the ******* commitment locked in

Steve Largent, for what he didn't have top end wise, he made up for with laser precise routes and he didn't lose speed in and out of breaks. One **** of a set of hands on the guy as well. One of the most underrated to ever lace them up IMO.

That's a serious stat line for a sophomore and he can fly. He'll have everyone in the country after him if he keeps that up, let alone improves which he's likely to do if healthy.
It was also said that Largent had the strongest ankles they ever saw on a WR. Probably why he could cut so sharply.
