Valentine Thread: Set to visit this weekend....maybe.

See, when we land kids with handlers nothing shady happened. When other programs do, it's time launch an investigation.

And FWIW, D$ said in another thread that it is well know that LSU is the dirtiest program when it comes to recruiting.

LOL, Im glad D$ finally lent some legitimacy to this. Because some of us have been screaming this for years now. Its well known that L$u is one of the dirtiest programs in the country.

I blame Golden for losing Valentine, no excuses.

But anyone who is defending Genron is naive.

Miles looks uncomfortable. Maybe it is Genron's hands in his pockets - probably with Les' wallet.

Hmm, relationships? From what we read Hurlie has a friend, relative tied to about every school or kid we're recruiting in S Fl. Just about the same is said to be true of Barrow. Coley has been alleged to be a recruiting guru. Golden has a gift of gab, seems to work the local coaches unlike his stoic predecessor and stages dirt-cheap summer camps.

So Pete, tell us more about this relationship business. Where exactly are we failing? What self-improvement tips might you offer?

yup, and just so happens Hurlie has a very strong "relationship" with someone very close to Valentine.... So, you can put the "relationship" effecting TV talk to rest...

Not necessarily. Champagnat coaches don't like D'Onofrio going back to an incident from a couple years ago. That is a major issue here

Come on, Pete, don't hold back. Tell us what it is. Clearly, Al & Co. arrived after Genron handled Joyner and Therezie, so what was it? Possible that D'Onofrio called him on something?

Genron was the "handler" of Joyner and Therezie too???

That's the word.

Just to confirm nobody recently has spoken directly to Valentine or his parents. In addition, as of 12:21 PM on 1/28/14 it is unknown whether he will take an official visit this weekend to Miami.

Check with Genron he is providing the transportation, if he comes, which I doubt.

This is the first I am hearing of this school's issues with Coach D (NOT related to scheme and the Dorito nonsense). Was this discussed before? Why is this not discussed in more detail?

youth coach, current coach, or family member are the three normal relationships. What people don't realize is that a lot of these kids would not be able to get around if not for these handlers. The kids need rides for unofficial visits, games, camps. These people are vital in the process.

And what's in it for the "handlers" Pete? Where do they get the money to be driving these kids all over on unofficial visits, and to camps, paying for hotels, food, etc?

That's for you to infer. All I'm saying is that Miami has a number of kids committed who have handlers and I don't see anybody complaining about them since they are committed here.

Out of curiosity, who besides Yearby has a "handler/mentor" in this class?

To my knowledge, Tyre Brady, Trayon Gray, Herndon, McCray, Yearby

Find it hard to believe Herndon has a "handler'' per say. If so, it's not on par with the S. Fl. variety.

Also, Pete, can you educate us on who is the "handler'' for Sony?

I'm just going off what Genron has tweeted before but he claimed DNO told him he wasn't a good coach. I believe Genron's tweet was "Ain't no northerner gonna tell me I ain't good enough to coach" or something like that. And when asked who he was talking about he said "Miami DC"

Question....Do you guys believe kids commit to coaches or schools? Or there's middle ground?

Interested to hear responses. I'll hold my opinion

But also guys remember the source here for all this Genron white knighting. The same kid who stuck up for Uncle Puke and gave him a forum after he trashed the university last year.

Middle ground obviously. Its why some kids stay even when a coach bolts for another job. Some, like Yearby get attached to a certain coach. Others care more about the program/school, and will stay no matter who is the coach.
