Perfect example of a team not focused and looking ahead. USF should have been pulling their starters early in the 3rd quarter, but Tulsa who came into the game with a 2 & 8 record, having nothing to lose, showed up ready to play some football and **** near humiliated and ruined USF's season.

I'm not running around bellowing that the sky is falling, but Virginia (a team exponentially better than Tulsa) has the ability to put together a strong effort that could find success if we are not ready to rumble come 12 noon this Saturday.

Go Canes!

USF is a poorly coached team. Strong is bad. They are lucky they are playing in the **** conference or they would have at least 3 more losses.

It's cool to watch usf cause those are all the underrated Florida guys who didn't make it in with the big 3 but still have major talent.

USF has won 9 games and their only loss was by a grand total of 4 points. And your takeaway is they are poorly coached. I would like to add that USF's practice schedule was greatly disrupted due to Hurricane Irma. Most of those 9 wins saw USF blowout their opponents. And again, your takeaway is they are poorly coached. So, using your logic, if USF had good coaching they would be undefeated and destroying their opponents by 100 points each game. Additionally, they would be in the discussion as a final 4 team. By the way...you found a way to ignore the point of my comments, which are pointed at the Canes being ready as Virginia has the potential to do damage.

Strong putting the clamps on another great offense. He needs to get get back into coordinating

This is a legit point.

If we play the way we did vs UNC we will lose tomorrow.

That's true, but you can say that about any team and their worst game. I mean if Clemson plays the way it did vs Syracuse against South Carolina they will get smoked.

I expect us to be pretty locked in. It may not be a blowout, but a loss would be a huge shock

The irrational Charlie Strong hate is skrong in dees parts.

And OP is totally on-point with his thought process. USF was clearly looking ahead and played uninspired ball against Tulsa last night. But why not? Tulsa, which by the way is " A ****" spelled backwards, was 2-8 coming into that game.

Your Clemson/Syracuse analogy helps make the point that in college football it is far from being unusual for a massive favorite to be upset by a team that has no business being on the field with them. The Canes have shown a habit of playing down to their weaker opponents. Yet, this game is an opportunity for the Canes to put that bad habit to bed and force their will on Virginia. Keep in mind, "the committee' will use anything to jump one of their favored sons (Wisconsin) over the Canes, thus anything but a convincing win could be a loss in the polls.

I hope tomorrow the Canes once again demonstrate to the nation that...THEY ARE BACK!!!!!!

We looked just as uninspired and looking ahead with our UNC game with the Tar Heels having almost 20 players done for the season and ended up playing a 3rd string QB

It happens. It’s college. These kids are balancing a social life, school, and a playbook.

And why do people pick one game on a schedule and say "if we play like that against......"

If Alabama plays like they did against Colorado State, they won't win another game this year. Something tells me, though, that they aren't worried about that.

How many Charlie Strong failures can we blame on "looking ahead"?
