He wanted the job after Richt retired but of course Blake James didn’t interview anybody!Agreed. Without Milton they are a different team. He is still a quality coach tho. Agree about their AD. Hes made two solid hires in a row. Same can be said about Temples AD. But i'm done with Temple
What about Pagano makes you think he'd come here and what makes you think he'd be a good coach here? Not bashing just curious
Doable but no thanks on HeupelJosh Heupel salary 2.3, buyout 4.8. Doable.
Miami was paying richt a top 15-20 salary (4.25 mil plus) when he was the coach. They obviously aren’t going to pay a first time head coach that much nor should they
Great defensive coach.
A Butch disciple.
Knows how to recognize talent. He was on Butch's staff that build the 2001 National Championship team. So, he is a good talent evaluator.
He was a Graduate Assistant at UM in 1987 when they won the National Championhsip with JJ.
Went 11-5 three years in a row as head coach of Indy, before he contracted cancer (and eventually beat it).
Knows what is involved about coaching at UM and knows the demands of the fan base.
Knows how to develop and "coach up" talent.
You still don't get it. This aint about coach's salaries, its about PLAYER'S salaries.

OSU disagrees with you...I do get your point though. Bottomline, plenty of money to pay top level assistants. Instead, not only is UM saving money in Manny Diaz, but also the entire staff.Miami was paying richt a top 15-20 salary (4.25 mil plus) when he was the coach. Chuck Pagano
Great defensive coach. Top three defense in the NFL while the DC for the Ravens. Doing great with the Bears now. Believe his defense in the top 5..
A Butch disciple and Jimmy Johnson disciple.

He was a Graduate Assistant at UM in 1986 with JJ, when Miami perhaps had their greatest team ever that lost to Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl.

The rest of the staff richt had was paid well. Coach kool, Thomas Brown, dugans, searels were paid wellThe pastor's top 15-20 salary was irrelevant, when the overall payroll for his staff & support personnel was bottom barrel & in the bottom 3rd of all power 5 teams. So the pt that I'm trying to make to you is that you can't just look at the HC's salary, you have to also analyze the ENTIRE staff as a whole and see what type of financial resources are being allocated for their payroll. Doing so will allow you to realize how insane it is for this delusional fanbase to place the blame solely on MD & BJ, while maintaining unrealistic expectations.
It's not simply a question of the MIA administration possessing a greater will to field a competitive football team. It's also a question of capability. There's a HUGE difference financially between MIA and other private schools like ND & USC. ND as a university/football program can afford to maintain championship or bust expectations because they're independent. MIA on the other hand is not. It is affiliated with a power 5 conference while putting forth/making a bare minimum investment/commitment to it's football program. So essentially..it's being compensated & incentivized to uphold mediocrity. That is a very dangerous combination for a football program & bankrupt university that is bleeding chips in every aspect. This more than anything sums up the past 15+ yrs..
Me neither. I want to see what he can do with a roster full of own players.im not sold on him yet but i do want their AD.
Amen.Josh Heupel salary 2.3, buyout 4.8. Doable.
