Urban to the Cowboys?

Been saying this for a while now. This is the job Urban wanted when he first flaked out of Florida with his fake illness. Garrett righted the ship and finally got the Cowboys to the playoffs. Garrett got to keep his job and Urban remained amongst the college ranks. This is getting interesting now. Timing is right. JJ is anxious for a winner. Does Urban want the gig?

Go Canes!

College guys who go the NFL almost always get a rude awakening eventually. They lose control of so much, players are paid more than them, the limitations on rosters and practises is extreme compared to college.

Urban is a guy who has a successful offensive philosophy, hires good staff, and builds a culture focused only on winning. He is also a great recruiter.

My take is 2/4 things that make Urban great in college don’t translate at all to the NFL.
I'm really haven't heard any good or bad things about the type of " team guy " Zeke is, but he could help Urban out with the locker room

How many Super Bowls did Bill win with the Cowboys? Jimmy had built a very young dynasty from nothing with his unorthodox approach to drafting players. Why would you let go of a coach that won two Super Bowls in a row with very young personal if you simply wanted to win.

It would be like letting Nick Saban go "separate ways" because of personal differences after winning 2 national championships in a row because of the AD wanted to help call plays and Saban wouldn't let him.
That 2007 squad he built SHOULD have but it is what it is

I can’t see Urban going to Dallas. Urban can have complete control over any college football team. In Dallas he will have the most meddling owner in the NFL up his **** all day.

Going from being a college OC to NFL head coach?

Doesn’t seem like things are supposed to work that way, but whatever.

I’ve never even heard of Tony Eliot until now, TBH.

I'll be surprised if this doesn't happen. Meyer doesn't seen the type to hang around a TV studio season after season. He's not going to take a risk at a second tier college program. There are only a handful of elite schools where he'd have access to dominant talent season after season. USC is closed. He can't force Notre Dame open. I guess he could consider Florida State but it doesn't seem logical, especially with Clemson so dominant in the same division. Meyer knows if he went to Florida State then the talent and recruiting edge would be against him, the exact opposite of what he experienced when Jim Harbaugh jumped into the Michigan job.

These guys are increasingly tempted upward. Meyer doesn't need to go back to the '90s for successful examples when all he has to do is look at Pete Carroll.
