It did sound good guys but nah that **** is trash. I’m looking at the replay and we don’t have enough muscle In the box behind the D-Line. Why did we not play McCloud in a traditional strong side lber role against LSU??

The striker is lined up outside so far that he’s out of the play before the ball is snapped. That 50 yard TD run up Knowles ***, Derrick Smith was on the field but he’s chasing tail bc hes out of the play guarding a fckn cornerback by the sidelines??

How would this scheme help stop any run play besides a jet sweep or some other bs that LSU definitely wasn’t going to run?? Smh 🤦‍♂️

Manny tries so hard to be some sort of creative innovator, but has no fundamental component to his schemes and this is why hes been a slightly above average dc his whole career.

It was a fail when he tried to introduce the **** as some other worldly idea.

It’s nothing but a 4-2-5

It’s different when teams go 3 wide.... this striker bs has the lber guarding the slot away from the middle of the field.

The 4-2-5 is going to always have corners matched up with receivers.... Not a ”lber” out guarding a slot receiver. The 3rd safety plays a rover position guarding the middle of the field, the same part of the field that Diaz’s defense leave wide *** open no matter what.

I'm not sure how its a fail. It's an alignment problem and its the exact same when McCloud is out there.

Against spread teams I'd rather have Finley/Smith than McCloud on the field.

All of our LBs sucked. Should we just declare MLB and WLB as fails too?

The play calling imo.... we crashed the strong side, the weak side up the middle was wide open aside from Knowles... the striker was lined up out of the play like a **** cb.

I hear ya but still wasn't the striker fault before all that bs happened Smith and Finley we're playing well

It’s a fail bc the alignment is the issue... it doesn’t make since to have another presence that should be roaming the middle, out in space especially when defending the middle is the biggest issue in Diaz’s defense.

We leave the striker side open for wide open lanes for any rb to run thru. And on passing downs it does nothing to solve the issue of teams burning us down the middle.

I can see if a team is going 4 wide but just 3 WRs it’s no need to have the striker guarding the slot.

Manny talk game is ELITE

Yeah they played well within their assignnent but they would have more of an impact imo as a Rover not playing like a nickel corner.

That 50 yard play wasn’t on the striker it was on Diaz for calling that stupid ****... Smith was out of the play before the ball was hiked.

Nah..In a 4-2-5 that was made famous by TCU’s Gary Patterson...there are 3 safety’s & the safety covering the slot away from the field.

When I think of Diaz’s striker..I’m thinking of guys like Romeo & Derrick Smith. Diaz just doesn’t know WTF he’s doing.

But that isnt the guys themselves. They just termed it striker for hybrid guys like Smith/Finley. Having them out there is much better than McCloud.

Alignment is an issue whether its Striker or OLB.

Your OP complained about McCloud not being out there, which is just dumb. McCloud sucks

Yes Rosier has stunk going back to last year, but during our 4 game losing streak Manny's defense has been garbage. 5 to 10 times a game there are receivers running wide open down the field or with way too much cushion.

Combine that with our front 7 alignments not making sense and getting gashed. Our LBs were nonexistent last night

With the talent we have there is no reason we shouldnt have a top 10, but I don't trust Manny to take us to that level.

That play was on Knowles. It's a 10 yard gain if Jaquan is back there. That's an easy tackle for a safety

Jaquan was on the field though, why did Diaz decide to have him crash blitz on a 2nd and 15 in the first place?? He neutralized all of his best players on the field with that play call.

Knowles ran into the same blocker that Jaquan or Redwine or anybody else would’ve ran into... nobody would’ve made that play in Knowles position unless they knew the play and just gunned for it down the hatch as soon as the ball was hiked.

There wasn’t enough bodies left to defend it, we sent everybody on a blitz it shouldn’t have been left up to 1 safety to take on a blocker and make the open field play at the same time.

What's lost in all this is we were screwed once they ejected Bandy which was questionable to being with. You literally can't hit anyone anymore. Once we lost Bandy our rotations we're off. I don't think they expected to have to play Ivey and Blades Jr as much as they played last night. Smith had to play some corner as well.

Also Dean is trash. Let the young bucks play. Blades and Ivey looked better in their first game than he did in year 2 with 2 years at Junior College under his belt as well. Now we see why Bama let him walk.

It drives me crazy when Manny overloads the short side of the field and then you know exactly what happens, we get out flanked for a big game to the wide side because our blitz can't get there

Dean is a straight trash player. Bandy getting ejected was a massive momentum loss. Dean dropped a possible pick that bandy takes to the house. We have a fumble at our feet and two guys can’t grab it. Two possible turnover chain sightings wasted into lost momentum. That touchdown on 2nd and 15 was mannys fault. He’s getting too cute again
