Did they say we were their "flagship school" or is that what people thought because, well we're Miami fans?
We haven't been a hot name in forever. That doesn't seem like something you'd want to label as a flagship school. We certainly aren't living up to our part of the deal if that was ever the assumption and there's a lot of big schools out there with big fan bases which would sell far more gear.
Seems to me, you're just looking to dump on Adidas while rocking those Nike's. That's fine, but I can't stand their cookie cutter approach, but it's all about saving money so I get it.
Bruh; u know me. U know I don’t just make up chit to just for the Fck of it.
“ With the change, Miami is expected to not only sign a more lucrative contract that will inject a significant amount of money into the athletic program, but the expectation is athletes and coaches will be receiving more gear than they did under the school's present contract with Nike, with the source saying "Miami will be treated like a special entity."”

“Their unmatched success, national relevance and cultural significance make them a perfect fit for Adidas as we continue to significantly invest and grow our business in the U.S.," said Adidas Group North America president Mark King. "Florida is a key battleground and home to some of the best athletic talent in the country. We're proud to have Miami as a key pillar of our future business."”
-Mark King
Listen, I told ALL OF YOU on here that Adidas took a huge risk & gamble on us. King was being aggressive in trying to make Adidas relevant again. He did that by:
1. Securing 3 of Nike’s top designers (who also took proprietary design properties w/ them which is why a lot of Adidas sneakers started to mimic Nike shoes...which they were sued for & lost)
2. Started to be aggressive in the AAU circuit
3. Becoming more a presence on the P5 apparel level by aggressively bidding on downtrodden known Nike schools (Miami, ASU) to expand its portfolio.
4. Go back to its 80’s roots by reconnecting to lifestyle branding via hip hop artist (and they got Kanye & reignited Pharrell)
They overpaid for us b/c of our brand. By FAR, we are the biggest P5 CFB brand under their portfolio. It was a high risk, high reward investment in us. HOWEVER, b/c I saw them do the SAME CHIT with Michigan, overpay, I made it very clear that Adidas is doing & saying all the right things for now, but if we don’t hold up our end, we’ll not be their priority.
So no, it’s not an excuse to dump on Adidas, Adidas is a second tier brand in which I knew they couldn’t keep up w/ the smoke they were blowing. Adidas is more interested in the b-ball, soccer, & lifestyle scene. Their priorities r UL, KU b/c they r in the bed w/ them.
And we’re The U got dammit, not The V.
