Canes defensive back target Brian Edwards, who was previously committed to Miami, told CanesInSight.com this morning that he is expecting in-home visits from Miami, Louisville, and Colorado this week.

He's not sure on the days yet, but look for Miami to see him early this week as he is one of their top remaining targets at defensive back.

UPDATE: Banda and Rumph will in-home with Edwards this afternoon.

It's clear now that the staff wants the following at CB -

1. Bandy
2. Henderson
3. Edwards
4. Juco CB

Plan B -

1. Antwan Collier
2. Brini

In an ideal world, they would want Edwards, Henderson, and a JUCO guy to close the class at DB.

They view Edwards as a guy who can play both corner or safety

Would make for an almost perfect DB class.. IMO only miss would be Marco Wilson who was never coming here anyways

Heck of an athlete went to state finals in high jump and has made 6-4 nearly making 6-6 I read on this board. Kid is 6-3 and nearly 200 could grow into a 215-220 safety. In the NFL and now college ball the use of very athletic TEs wound make him in demand.

So they view him playing a Jalen Ramsey esque role on defense? Why did he decommit then?

Allowing a versatile db to play all over the field and if he hits there he'd be an impressive draft prospect in the future. That, immediate playing time, playing at home I mean you go to Miramar your family could walk to the stadium its an easy sell

Apparently the staff wasn't paying enough attention to him. At least that's what was reported on this board.

Bit worried about all these hybrid CB / S we're after / already have on the roster.

Someone like Redwine, for example, looks like a S to me and struggles in man coverage against a WR. Do we really need more of those guys on the roster?

We do not need more Redwines.

That isn't true. They've been on him hard the whole time.

It was more about him wanting attention from other schools, which doesn't happen when you're a solid commit.
