I know many don't like Mario but he is innovative and leanred from saban not to put up with mediocre bums and is very progressive. ALSO HAS ALWAYS HAD AN A+ OLINE

If Mario Cristobal was our head coach.

1. Malik Rosier would be holding a clipboard for an FCS school (with Jon Richt as his coach)

2. Stacy Searels would be at a job bank & we would have the best OL in the nation

3. Manny Diaz would be running for some political job off the coattail of his Dad

4. Feagles would be punting in PEE-WEE football

5. Robert Knowles would be locked away for endagrement to hurt other football programs

6. Dorsey would be on this staff so would Vilma and/or Ed Reed

Hopefully when RIcht leaves he is up next.

These threads are pointless. We have to ride with Richt for at least two more years. And you all hated Cristobal with a passion just last year.
Yea I was on that train but I’m monitoring Oregon rn seeing how he does ... if he’s doing well in a couple years wouldn’t mind having him back

I say at least 5. He's the kinda coach that does enough to not get fired for awhile. Plus the IPF buys him (literally) at least 5-7 years.

I wanted Gundy - but oh well. Here we are. Bring in an OC is the first move that needs to happen. Then Richt to QB coach/HC, and Jon to Bolivia.
Get Searles out of my face, and bring in a real ST coach (Hartley stays at TE).

Those are the immediate changes ^

People wanting Richt gone don’t realize Cristobal will be our best and only realistic option if we take that route. Nobody else is going to come here if we let go of Richt after what he has done for us record wise, appearing in an ACCCG and the 18 class.
I know we are not letting go of Richt and Richt will be our coach until HE decides he doesn’t want to do it any longer. Just reiterating how stupid people sound when they even suggest anything remotely close to getting rid of Richt. Even when Richt does decide to go, you can bet your last dollar that Cristobal will be one of the first to get a call. Guaranteed.

Thought he coacched at Oregon or some place on west coast?

Barring a complete meltdown at Oregon, which seems unlikely, Mario will coach here eventually, whether people like it or not.

The one thing I will push back on heavily in your post is that we would have the best OL in the country. Believe it or not, when Mario was Bama’s OL coach, he wasn’t very popular amongst the fan base. In fact, I remember some Bama fans wanting him fired at one point. Not saying he’s a bad OL coach, but he hasn’t deserved to be crowned yet.

Regardless, Richt is our coach moving forward. He’s definitely not getting fired or retiring for a couple more years, so these discussions, as entertaining as they can be, are futile in the end. We can revisit this if Richt’s team completely implodes in the near future.

Never seen a bunch of fans that enjoyed firing coaches and starting over from scratch as my team. Miami is never going win unless we start supporting our head coach for more than one season.

Bama might have had their worst oline performances under Mario but hey the OP got it all figured out

Agreed. Baga boards hated Cristobal the OL coach but they tolerated him because of Cristobal the recruiter.

Right now Mario’s resume is on par with Willie Taggart. Unless he gets Oregon back to where they were under Chip Kelly, Mario would be a terrible hire for this program. I’m sure after Coach Richt is done we will be an even more attractable destination for an elite HC.

And that’s the thing with him — he has the potential to be a good CEO coach who recruits well, but we need to see a lot more from him. His tenure at Oregon will tell us a lot. The enticing thing with him is that he looks like he’s a fan of the spread offense, which would thrive here. If he would hire some great minds to be coordinators, I think he could succeed, but again, way too early to make that call.

Our facilities are improving. We are paying coaches more. And we’re not the laughing stock of CFB anymore. I think we’ll defintely be a more desirable job going forward.

You get rid of Brown or you think we can pay our RB coach 1M$+?

If we fired Coker, Randy and Golden after 1 season each we would have been better off. Just saying.
